Notes[]
- Due to the crafting requirements including
Atomos and
Dual Zoren, without spending platinum, Twin Basolk costs
180,000, 4
Morphics, 2
Argon Crystal, 2,400
Salvage, 1,300
Polymer Bundle, 1,100
Ferrite, 800
Alloy Plate and 800
Rubedo. The lowest possible time spent crafting the Twin Basolk is 36 hours, assuming the
Atomos and
Dual Zoren are finished at the same time (although the
Dual Zoren can be started any time within 12 hours of starting
Atomos, and still retain the 36 hour total build time).
Trivia[]
- When attacking, the weapons' discs seem to light up and spin, indicating some kind of kinetic charge is used to provide the
Heat damage.
- Basolk appears to be a corruption of Basalt, a type of volcanic rock.
- The Twin Basolk is the first dual melee weapon to use the 'Twin' prefix instead of 'Dual'.
- The Twin Basolk is the sixth weapon after the
Redeemer,
Tipedo,
Panthera,
Boltace and
Akjagara to require multiple different weapons as crafting requirements.

Would be cool if they added a Kuva variant of this melee that has a unique Heavy Attack ability so you can actually make use that useless Rift Strike augment.
Behold the kullervo axes!
Okay... now, somehow. my Twin Ballsack killing lvl 175 Eximus Heavy Gunner easily, wtf?
He's got balls of fury.
Does Excaliber's =10% speed & damage buffs work with this weapon?
It is a "dual sword" right?
Axes.
As for an actual answer to this, yes you gain the passive as they are classified as dual swords. Go crazy excal!
What a surprise. This weapon is stupidly strong. Not even 30, four mods, and not the best ones, and i'm still destroying liches and sorties.
Imagine with good mods
Imagine with riven
Really fun to play might use again
This weapon is wonderful. Even without forma or riven you can make a build that shreds the hp of any faction in sorties, and with room to fit Rift strike on or another mod.
I don't know if this applies to other weapons, but this also has very good synergy with dizzying rounds. A very fast finisher instakilling anything i can currently throw at it. Maybe use that free mod slot on finisher damage, currently got no forma to test that out
sad state this thing is in.
hybrid weapons are kings. only crit focused, only status focused weapons are left behind in the dirt
Dunno where you got that from, this weapon can apply more status than nukor at max combo counter with weeping wounds wich makes condition overload hit like a truck
Heat inherit anyone (big brains only)
This thing absolutely melts. A good riven is nice to have.
I got one with +2.4 Range / +216.9% Damage / +115% Status Chance / -121.4% Crit on Slide
I run Swirling Tiger + Condition Overload + Primed Pressure Point + Berserker + Vicious Frost + Quickening + Primed Fever Strike + Weeping Wounds + the riven above , 110% status boosted by weeping wounds too, Viral + Heat , quick attack speed and fast combo.
Quickening can be re placed for Primed Reach and it reaches a whopping 7.9 meter range! Pretty happy with this, everything melts.
"don't run PP with CO" - please learn how to build before you speak boy
Don't run PPP with CO, especially with that Riven.
The spot you save can be used for someething much better.
Here is the damage you get from adding Primed Pressure Point to the build:
0 procs: +216.9% Riven = 3.169
With PPP=4.819, +52%
1 proc: +120% CO = 4.369
With PPP=6.019, +37.7%
2 procs: +240% CO = 5.569
With PPP=7.219, +29%
3 procs: +360% CO = 6.769
With PPP=8.419, +24.4%
4 procs: +480% CO = 7.969
With PPP=9.619, +20.7%
(without riven, its 0=+165%, 1=+75%, 2=+48.5%, 3=+35.8%, 4=+28.4%)
While the 52% on first hit look nice, you could instead use Primed Smite for +55% on every single hit, while also massively increasing proc damage. hell, after the first hit, running Blood Rush would be better for DPS.
Even without the Riven, Primed Smite is gonna be mostly better, as PPP will only noticably boost your first hit that isn't even Viral boosted. This is a status chance weapon, it should have multiple procs after the very first hit.
PPP is even less worth it if you run a CO primer weapon like Cyanex or Nukor, or any kind of base damage buff, like that one Arcane.
Don't run PPP with CO
Also let's not froget we have forced procs on the dual sword stances aswell. That means even without status chance you have like 1-2 status effects guaranteed for CO. So please:
Don't run PPP with CO.
Running PP with Co is smol brain smol pp move
apart from rift strike this weapon is useless as a regular melee, who is the einstein who thought it would be a good idea to give 5% crit chance
At least to me this weapons is more than strong enough.Depsite it's low crit chance it feels damn strong above lvl 100 enemies.
no-crit, high status weapons are surprisingly strong
not as good as hybrid weapons, but easily viable
now that the status chance can go higher than 100%, Weeping Wounds became REALLY effective on this weapon
Slap on heavy attack charge reduction and Rift Strike and these things are just stupid fucking fun c:
Add on Dispatch Overdrive for even crazier shenanigans.
Zooooom! :D
I don't usually use heavy attacks, and I can't imagine bloodrush makes it on builds for this weapon. Can I completely disregard combo timer for this puppy?
I didn't play much Twin Basolk since the melee overhaul, but I think you are right: Bloodrush won't make it here, not even with the best crit rivens (since we don't have flat bonuses for slide crits anymore). I wouldn't disregard heavy attacks at all, but if you really don't use them then yes, you can ignore the counter entirely here.
You are correct in thinking blood rush is not effective on a weapon with 5% crit chance...
Blood rush on anything less than 20% crit chance is going to only have meh results unless the crit damage multiplier is high enough to compensate.
Shotgunlover is incorrect. Weeping wounds on this weapon is an important part in its damage potential. You want to build for 3 elemental damage types and the 3 IPS damage types. This thing can lay a lot of status down really fast, so its damage potential is relatively high with a viral build.
You never really want to 'disregard combo timer' for any weapon. All weapons can interact with it in positive ways.
His comment was between the Melee rework (when combo multiplier didnt multiply damage anymore) and the status rework (where multiprocs became a thing, so >100% status even did something), so he kinda was right back then. It hit 100% pretty much with 2.5 x 60/60 mods and anything after that was pointless.
slap on some corrosive and watch high level enemy armor just poof away
No
dude this thing melt heavy gunner like butter
charge attack (aka heavy attacks) is back in the meta, time for this boi to shine once more
Whats better these or the twin krohkur?
melee was buffed, disregard the comment about heat being bad now
Heat is one of the best sole elements now. Twin Krokhur win for slash procs and crits, but this will win for procs period, particularly if you want something like gas procs or corrosive/heat.
Throw on Rift Strike, and any extra time these take to kill is made up for by closing from 25m almost instantly with AoE knockdowns.
the teleport is fun but its worse
Lol @ heat is weakest
Weapon hits like crap with a full status and elemental build. I just leveled it up and now selling for the crap credits it is worth.
It might be helpful to add where the blueprint can be purchased from, e.g. Market, Dojo, Baro.
Requiring an MR5 weapon (atomos) to build a MR3 weapon seems rather stupid. Considering how powerful these things can be I don't know why they wouldn't just make them MR5 or higher, really. As a new player trying to build new weapons this is rather offputting.
Its so that MR3 can buy it
It's worth having simply for "heh nothing personnel KID" augment.
