xThe "gore" keyword appears to describe the dismemberment mechanic; having this mod equipped will allow many weapons, abilities, and companions (even temporary ones) to dismember, even if they don't otherwise meet the requirements.
- This synergizes well with
Nekros's
Desecrate, as bisected body parts are treated as distinct "corpses", and have their own chance to yield additional loot.
Tentacle Swarm consistently bisects enemies that it kills, though the low damage means that it scales poorly into higher-end content without additional sources of damage. Running it with Pilfering Swarm alongside a Nekros's Desecrate allows for up to 4 drops per applicable enemy.[citation needed]
- This may include the Silver Grove Specters; at most, two drops from Pilfering Swarm, and one from Desecrate have been consistently observed.
- The following exceptions exist:
- This mod can allow killing blows from your damaging status effects to bisect a large variety of enemies, but it's inconsistent:
Slash,
Heat, and
Toxin will consistently bisect many common humanoids, but not newer[citation needed] or Infested enemies.
Electricity and
Gas damage are inconsistent at bisecting.
Saryn's
Spores may consistently bisect Chargers, but their corpses may disappear too quickly for a Nekros to desecrate en masse.
- Projectile weapons with travel time that cannot pin enemies to walls bisect exceedingly rarely, if at all.[citation needed]
- Examples include the primary attacks of the Euphona Prime, Battacor, Hema, or Lanka.
- Acrid is an exemption, as it still bisects consistently.
- Enemies killed by
Cold damage, which become frozen and are not bisectable.
- This may be a bug, as Cold-damage kills used to allow the corpses to be shattered.
- Trying to bisect enemies through radial damage - such as from Shedu, Proboscis Cernos, or Penta - is unreliable. The effectiveness varies considerably: as it depends on the size and origin point of an explosion in relation to the enemy, as well as which enemy, and their physical orientation.
- Kills from Jump Kicks, Bullet Jumps, and Mercies.
- This mod can allow killing blows from your damaging status effects to bisect a large variety of enemies, but it's inconsistent:

Viral works with this?
This does not seem to make companions dismember. Sentinels using Stinger and Diriga's Arc Coil do not dismember even if they kill directly, even if the enemies have a slash or heat proc on them when they die, or have been damaged by an ability or are affected by a dot ability (dessicate) or in a dot area from an ability (Hallowed Ground). It also does not cause Nekros shadows to dismember if they wouldn't normally; grineer butchers will dismember because of their naturally high slash, but grineer Scorch and corpus crewmen will not.
Good neEeEws everyone! The Ogris will gore quite consistently, so as to suspect *guaranteed*. Depending on what was meant by projectile/travel-time/no-pin, this would be an exception to that rule of thumb.
I also noticed the Ignis will gore at about the same rate, intuitively (which could be 100%).
It's worth mentioning this is *visually* and in vitro, though I doubt it makes any difference.
I should've come to this page earlier. The mod description is comically bad.
Doesn't affect the gore chance of weapons that could already gore.
This is a must for tene arca plasmor bruh fr
Decided to update my ripkas as part of my yearly "What weapons do i want to re-visit" list.
I decided to make a melee thats mostly for acolytes while making use of this mod for overall nekros shenanigans and found something interesting.
My nekros has Thermal sunder subsumed. 235 range. 200 strength.
I... have never. Seen so many dismembered corpses.
Even in steel path farming with a group. I put out some thermal sunders, the corpses still gets split when Khora nukes them.
The gore chance seem to be applicable as long as you -assisted- with the kill. Regardless if you did the killing blow from my testing.
If you wish to spread the gore chance -effectivly- Thermal sunder seems to be a good option.
It also seems to apply to any enemy unit that -walks into- thermal sunder's after effect zone.
It needs further testing. But i havent seen anyone else mention this so i thought i'd put it out.
Well yes, the page says "having this mod equipped will allow many weapons, abilities, and companions (even temporary ones) to dismember, even if they don't otherwise meet the requirements."
Really helpful thank you!
Gonna make this build now, so excited
This mod appears to be bugged for me. It's either 100% working or its 100% not working. When I farm pigment, I'll get 10 for drops every time, or 20, always even numbers, for the hour I'm out there. Then I rinse and repeat changing nothing, and all of my drops will be 13 or 25, NEVER 10 etc. The only thing that makes sense is that gore isn't working, when everything, including boosters etc is the same and its on every single drop for a lengthy period of time. I just can't determine why its in "off" mode and it will be harder to tell when farming things like polymer.
There is a button in the system menu of setting, which has gore enabling and disabling functions, this could be why it is off.
I'm sure its visual only
"Enemies killed by Slash damage to the torso can result in their corpse being bisected, which is considerably valuable for a Nekros using Desecrate, as each part of the body can spawn a Health Orb and some loot (note that individual limbs that have been removed from a corpse cannot be Desecrated, only large parts of the body). Corpses can also be quickly meleed to dismember them; however, an enemy's corpse can only ever be mutilated twice—if melee spam ended up lopping two limbs from a corpse, it will not be possible to then attempt to bisect it to get two desecrate rolls. Note that this characteristic may be disabled due to gore settings or regional locks: the Japanese version of WARFRAME, for example, does not allow for much corpse dismemberment." From "slash damage" on warframe wiki
Does this apply to the whole squad
Any dmg. in area of your inf. counts
What does "inf." mean?
Influence I'm pretty sure
Does the gore chance work on explosive weapons, like the kuva zarr?
Yes, any dmg. cool combo with orgis too
It doesn't apply to khora's whipclaw hits, but it apply to it's slash procs
Theres almost no point to put it on Khora.. its main male for Nekro
My 223% melee damage 247% crit chance 124% crit damage -8.2s combo duration stat stick begs to differ.
That's a pretty bad negative for her. I'm not sure its totally useless as it does seem to chop up more than just the net does.
Applies*
Does this applies to khora's cage? took it to endo farming and.well the effects seems random? like times i'll get below average(2.5k) and then a rare time will come when we get a massive endo haul(3.5k-4k).. and when i dont use it.. we get a steady endo haul like 3k or so per run.... so, I would say yes it affects it? I really don't know I'm confused. Is there a way to make this effective in endo farm.. or any farm with nekros for that matter..? with khora's cage
It apply to the cage, but ennemies must be killed by the cage itself (the tiny 250dmg/s). The gore chances affect your kit, not other people kits.
Btw, it doesn't apply to the whipclaw main dmg either, but it does apply to slash procs resulting from the whipclaw.
So it should work pretty well as long as the Khora use a slash proc oriented statstick build and that she stays the main damage dealer.
Does this work with a heavy attack build on ripkas
It's 2x for Heavy Attacks, so 374% Crit chance
I mean the gore chance
See notes. The guaranteed gore applies to all your loadout. Heavy attacks, but also primary kills, ability kills, status dot kills, basically all your kit
This mod's "Gore Chance" is very confusing, as it is describing the dismemberment mechanic with a different, simplified term, and refusing to elaborate on how either of these things work. No where in-game does it state that the Gore Chance applies to anything other than the Ripkas, like your primary/secondary/abilities, yet it does.
For anyone struggling to understand the best way to make use of this mod functionally, that being with Nekros's Desecrate, I have done some testing and may be able to help explain for you:
The Dismemberment mechanic will sever enemies body parts. This can be certain limbs like an arm or leg, or it can just split them completely in half from their head to the groin. 2 instances of Dismemberment can only ever apply to 1 corpse. So if it loses 2 arms, or 1 arm and 1 leg, it cannot be severed any further. Even if you place it in a blender. Once 2 limbs are removed consider the rest of the body now made of stone.
Desecrate will only apply to Dismembered bodies if they are split into 2 equally sized parts. Severed arms, legs, heads etc will not be Desecrated.
Therefore to get the most out of Desecrate, we want to be completely splitting bodies as much as possible.
Usually Dismemberment only applies when a hit is done by a weapon dealing mostly Slash damage, and does not take DoT status into account. This mod completely bypasses that requirement. Enemies killed by any weapon, status effect or warframe ability, will be Dismembered. It's a bit finicky and buggy on which things apply it as some things interact with corpses in other ways, but that is the general premise.
Now where the corpse gets Dismembered is decided by where the body is hit. Hits to the centre of the body will sever the torso, hits to limbs will sever that limb. Therefore weapons with little to no accuracy like high AoE, are less likely to hit the enemies where you want to.
Obviously weapons that deal with single targets and need you to aim for the chest are a lot slower at killing. So to work around this you can use AoE weapons that kill using DoT status. Enemies that die to Slash, Heat or Toxin status are very likely to be split down the middle as they aren't being hit in any specific place. By building weapons focused around DoT status effects you are more likely to efficiently Dismember enemies.
Hopefully something here helps clear things up for someone.
Thanks for this.
Sometimes, God walk among us.
Sus
This need to be added to the main article.
Does it work on kills by status proc? Like enemies dying form slash proc or heat proc.
Yes
Does 100% gore chance means that gore also applies to secondary, primary and companion? Or is it just for ripkas.
Edit: nevermind i found it in the comment section
Anyone use this with the cedo yet?
"The explosion will only happen when the weapon has killed the enemy with its damage, but not with damage procs, such as Slash, which procs the bleed effect." when they say explosion do they mean the enemies splitting?
ru community claims that this is the dismemberment of the body. (wear it to the arena to farm * endo)
It doesn't work with Khora's Whipclaw
can the gore chance also apply to statstick?
If you're thinking of skills like Landslide, it does not seem to apply.
Would like Ripkas Wraith or Kuva Ripkas so that I can use it with Nekros.
