Notes[]
- This Mod reduces your maximum Shields by 80% but also changes how Shield Gating Scaling works for your Warframe with a guaranteed 1.33 seconds of Shield Gating upon full Shield depletion. With this Mod equipped, Shield Gating duration scales from 0.33 to 1.33 based on your maximum Shield values, regardless of what they are. For example, if your maximum Shields are at 100% while Catalyzing Shields is installed, you can expect the following Shield Gating durations:
- 100% Shields at Shield Break: 1.33s of Shield Gating
- 75% Shields at Shield Break: 1.0s of Shield Gating
- 50% Shields at Shield Break: 0.67s of Shield Gating
- 25% Shields at Shield Break: 0.34s of Shield Gating
- 10% Shields at Shield Break: 0.33s of Shield Gating
- As a reminder, 0.33s is the absolute minimum duration for Shield Gating!
Trivia[]
- This mod functions how Shield Gating and Decaying Dragon Key worked prior to Update 34.0 (2023-10-18), where shield gating duration was based on simply fully recovering shields, thus causing lower shield values to be highly beneficial to reach the full duration.

How does this work with Hildryn and her 3.5s innate Shield gating?
I sold the one I got from the alert but now I'm sad because I got a good build idea with it.
From Patch Notes since this page says nothing about this part of the mod and how it works.
For example, if my maximum Shields are 100 with Catalyzing Shields equipped, I would expect the following Shield Gating durations:
100 Shields at Shield Break: 1.33s of Shield Gating
75 Shields at Shield Break: 1.0s of Shield Gating
50 Shields at Shield Break: 0.67s of Shield Gating
25 Shields at Shield Break: 0.34s of Shield Gating
10 Shields at Shield Break: 0.33s of Shield GatingAs a reminder, 0.33s is the absolute minimum duration for Shield Gating!
He's not. So much of DE's community is dedicated to whining about the game. Most "bugs" I hear about are not bugs and rather the accusers' lack of knowledge on the game's mechanics. My only criticism on the game is also it's highlight: There's A LOT to learn.
To be fair, he posted it on 4/20.
"1/3 of all tridolon runs fail due to some bug" bro forgot you have to break the shields with your amp
Right, from someone who seem to never experience it and then gloat of their own luck. WOW. There is still a bug in tridolons that has been going on for almost7 years now. The bug where the eidolons dies in the final phase. Lures getting stuck, lures flying away on teleport. A very weird bug where sometime, just sometimes there are some sort of input lag, totally disrupting my rhythm. Alas as a casual how would you notice that, heck, would you even bother to notice it.
Funny how the notorius mechanic of the previous meta still overshadows the braindead meta of now. Before everyone could just shield-gate to live and that included the newbie. It still does today - to a lesser degree as it has been reworked. The same creators who advocated for the shield-gating meta has now turned heads toward shield-tanking. Can you guess which one is more braindead? Well I can at least say that I no longer have to pay attention to my own safety until level 500. That was the primary thing about shield-gating, it basically forced players to balance fighting and energy mangement. Now? Well shield users can be walking inaros with extra perks. But no seriously Inaros needs a rework - Like asap
Womp womp
Except that shield tanking is still shit for level cap
Except that level cap is for losers
Except Inaros gets 1-shot at level cap and shield-gating is the only way to survive. What are you on about?
Rank 0 is just a straight up voluntary downgrade, weird that you can choose to minimize your shield gating and also reduce your shields for no gain whatsoever.
Wow... I can't believe they added a mod for "I have no skill".
With the rate at which enemy damage scales, unless you are reaching absurdly high effective health (ie. Iron Skin), you are still eventually going to get one-shot. Simply focusing on EHP will not help you at that point. Invulnerability, shield gating, invisibility, crowd control - doesn't matter what exactly it is, but it needs to be some way of avoiding situations where a practically infinite damage bullet hits your raw health pool, because you're going to die.
I agree with some earlier comments - Warframe played casually is piss easy, and trying to be elitist over petty things like the method in which people have their power fantasy is just sad. Who really, genuinely gives a shit if some people don't care to put as much thought into their builds? Not everyone plays the game for that - I can say I find it personally disappointing, and maybe they're missing out on some of the most fun parts of Warframe, but that's their choice. If you get outright upset that somebody else is playing a PvE game differently to you, in a way that doesn't affect you... re-evaluate your fucking life! Genuinely! That's such a pathetically sad thing to spend your life being mad about!
Has anyone noticed that OP and "I should ignore this petty feud" guy have the same IP? I know it can be a coincidence, but for a coincidence to happen so quickly.
He's probably playing at being his own Devil's Advocate.
Cringe.
I noticed that too. Reminds me of when people pretend to be someone else but forget to change their username. Calling people "no-skill" for utilizing a mechanic and then playing devil's advocate for themselves is the peak of cringe, even a year later.
And to the person insinuating that Warframe's community isn't nice: it is. They just don't take kindly to elitist fuckboys. Keep that shit in Destiny where it belongs.

I agree with the sentiment, but - respectfully - I disagree with the assertion, for reasons you can go into this comment's Edit History for. I know there are good folks here, but the rest of them don't just go for the elitists.
Have a good one. 👋
Finally, we can get rid of decaying dragon key. Yey!
Got one immediately after patch from Orokin Vault
What is about grendel prime with 95shields and with the mod 19shields can he get the full shield gate of 1.33sec?
Yes, because the mod works off of the PERCENTAGE of shields, not the exact value. If you have 100% shields you get full 1.33s duration. The exact value of shields doesn't matter, could be 1, this way you always had 100% shields when they regenerated :)
Nice mod, but it should have been an exilus one instead - it's an utility mod after all, like primed sure footed and exchanging it for something more usefull out of the other 8 slots is rather questionable. most people will just stick with annoying dragon key method instead.
"It's a survivability mod, like Rolling Guard." ... and like primed sure footed is also - which IS a exilus mod... so, welp...
Yes indeed, i only read the patch note afterwards ^^) at least now we can also skip the dragon key, even if the mod isn't particularly useful as normal sloted mod - at least for any builds i use.
Honestly...I think Primed Sure Footed shouldn't be an exilus mod anyways. it wasn't as obvious with the other exilus knockdown resistance mods because it was chance-based, but Primed Sure Footed is in like 80% of late-game builds because knockdown immunity is so disproportionately better then the majority of other options in the exilus slot. plus removing it brings back Handspring has a vaguely viable exilus option for being an inferior but consistent knockdown resistance.
Point is: people would use Primed Sure Footed even if it wasn't an exilus mod, and people are going to use Catalyzing shields regardless of if it is.
Almost a year late but the problem isn't that Prime Sure Footed is an exilus mod, the problem is that every other exilus mod is a meme ass doodoo water pick if you're playing anything outside of base star chart. In SP and higher level content, getting knocked down is a death sentence. Even with Handspring.
Maybe if they made other exilus mods less shit then people would choose them over PSF. But as it stands right now, not getting knocked down and insta-gibbed is more useful than niche bullshit.
A year late, and I still stand by what I said. The whole purpose Exilus slot exists is to allow for "bad" mods to be used in it. I'd happily take some more radar, movement, and generally weak QoL mods. Sadly I feel massively discouraged from doing so because even the drift mods distort the view of what's suppose to be used in that slot, and PSF puts even those to shame.
If all future exilus mods become the same power level as PSF, you might as well just make it a proper mod slot, because the only thing that's ever going to be in there are mods you'd willingly put in your main slots anyways.
The gun weapon exilus are actually committed to the goal of exilus mods, and i'm happy for it. there's a still a fair amount of mods that are just straight up better then others, but atleast with most weapons I don't feel the need to slot them in nearly as much as warframe exilus.
Too bad melee exilus went the opposite direction. I'd like to see more breathing room for the gimmicky melee mods, but tennokai ruined those chances.
