Does it work with nataruk?
Nataruk isn't aoe, it just has a big projectile.
hfy defense, deimos, round 30, atlas prime and nekros prime, useing both our loot boost that stack, it finally droped. 2/14/22
Does this work with Combustion Beam?
Yep!
Combustion beam description says otherwise
Hello can i ask if it affects the tether range on ferrox?
Just tested Primed Firestorm in the Simulacrum works as expected on the Kuva Ogris-even shows in the weapon's radial range stat.
Not working on either the Opticor or the Opticor Vandal.
The "effective damage area" bit on this page is either confusingly worded or downright incorrect. It seems to claim that the mod does not increase falloff distance on most weapons, when it reality it does. I tested several weapons, such as Lenz, for this, and in each case an enemy at the same distance from the explosion took more damage with this mod equipped. The falloff is the same, but over a longer distance, making it a decent damage increase on anything besides a direct hit, with a more noticeable effect further from the center.
I think that bit is still there from the time before all explosive weapons had damage falloff.
An important point: damage falloff is an important consideration with any of the newer AoE kaboom type weapons that DE is creating now.
Primed
Indeed.
Despite what the update says, this is NOT compatible with all Primary weapons. It doesn't work on the Phantasma or Astilla, so I assume it doesn't work on any shotgun.
Bubonico
does this affect Helstrum??
don't use this, waste of a mod slot. vigilante armaments is way better.
muiltishot is prio number one on eny weapon!
Ye but use both and you get better things
24% sounds like a lot but in practice (depends on weapon) you get less than 2 meters of extra radius. So basically you are trading a minor radius damage mod for some other damage mod of your choice that could boost +20% damage. Tradeoff. I am sure there are niche uses for this but I am underwhelmed.
It's very good on the Zarr. If you have a decent status chance, the Zarr's multiple bomblets make each explosion more effective, so extanding the radius so that more of the explosions hit more targets multiplies its effectiveness. My Zarr is built for viral and since I put Firestorm on it, it's become one of my most powerful weapons against all factions. In Mirage's hands, it's just plain OP. I get nothing but S-ranks in Elite Sanctuary Onslaught.
The Primed version boosts by 66% at max
Does this mod work on the Helstrum sentinel weapon?
yes
(in simulacrum, 8 enemys spawned, first shot without firestorm hits 3 enemys surrounding the initial target, with firestorm it hits 5)
doesnt seem to work on the shedu
This should be exilus mod for the weapons.
At max Range, a weapon (Kuva Bramma in this case) with 90% damage falloff will only do 10% damage.
With Firestorm it will deal 27.4% damage at the previous max range. That is 2.74 times the damage at that point.
For comparison, with a Serration+HC+2 Crit mods+2 Elementals+Split Chamber Build, using Vigilante in the last slot would improve your DPS by 33% (on average) accross the whole range. On Kuva Bramma, Firestorm would start doing more than that after around 5.82m, with roughly 4.47m left, allowing you to hit a whole lot more enemies.
If your goal is using a big AoE weapon to clear trash mobs, Firestorm is worth considering. Although if you don't plan to use a melee weapon, you can use Amalgam Furax Body Count instead. (or combine both for 44% radius increase)
If your goal is damaging multiple tanky enemies that are relatively close together, use a proper damage mod instead.
Projectile Speed's effect isn't that great on all falloff weapons, just a select few. Its main point for being an Exilus mod is that it primarily just makes using regular projectile weapons more enjoyable. Firestorm just straight up increases your damage. You all know you'd instantly equip it on any explosive weapon if it were an Exilus Mod.
"increased range is too much of a benefit for exilus slots "
Remind me what Terminal Velocity and Lethal Momentum, both exilus mods, do ? Ah, right, they increase projectile speed, which in turns increases protectile RANGE on weapons with max distance.
Did you even read it properly? Here, let me repeat:
"Projectile Speed's effect isn't that great on all falloff weapons, just a select few. Its main point for being an Exilus mod is that it primarily just makes using regular projectile weapons more enjoyable. Firestorm just straight up increases your damage. You all know you'd instantly equip it on any explosive weapon if it were an Exilus Mod."
In most cases it does not just straight up increase the amount of enemies you can hit and therefore the amount of damage you can potentially do. Even for short ranged guns, Projectile Speed isn't that important in most cases. Stuff like Catchmoon is an exception and everyone knows that Lethal Momentum is mandatory on that gun exactly for that reason. Which is a bad thing.
Projectile Speed is an exilus slot for projectile weapons. Would be kinda shitty for Supra and so on if it wasn't.
Firestorm would basically just increase your damage for all explosive weapons.
Well the way it is now, and even w the primed I will have a hard time slotting it. Supra needs ammo mutation more than projectile flight speed
Its so funny that this mod is now a staple in the Basmu Build... RiP when?
Useful, yes. as for it being a staple, not so much
He was talking about the broken (as in clearly bugged) Pulse build, where Firestorm massively increases the AoE
RIP buggy-ass Basmu, gone but not forgotten.
This mod works on the mutalist cernos, was just testing it on the simulacrum.
Doesn't appear to work with Komorex's magnified zoom radial burst, and I tested it quite a bit. I even tried stacking effects with Amalgam Furax Body Count (and every possible combination of the two) but nothing had any noticeable effect on the burst radius. 24% should have made a fairly noticeable difference, but instead it seem totally identical to the normal radius. Anyone want to double-check me on this? Once we do that it should probably be taken off of the list of compatible weapons.
Yea it should be removed from the list, AoE remains the same with firestorm. Still 3.5m with firestorm equipped.
Removed, thanks.
does it work with thunderbolt?
Yes. Tested in simulacrum with Cernos Prime. 30Aug2020 Build 29.0.5
Thunderbolt base radius without Firestrom= ~10m Thunderbolt with Firestorm= ~12.5m
Oddly this is only when fired into an object (wall, floor, etc). When hitting an enemy Thunderbolt's radius is only ~3m with or without Firestorm. Basing all these numbers on setting a waypoint and finding safe distance without self stagger.
Works on Lenz now.
So that means Kuva Bramma can equip it too right? Also it's not an exhilus mod?
Yeah, every primary can equip it now, even if it doesn't have any aoe (in which case, the mod doesn't do anything). Though I don't think it's really worth it on the Lenz, tested it a bit and it only seems to increase the second explosion radius (not the bubble) just a little bit. Also yeah, not an exilus.
Seems to me like it's not super useful. I don't have space to fit it on my build, and a 91% increase in total area seems nice, but I wouldn't want to sacrifice damage for it. If it was an exilus mod, that would be nice. But that's borderline DPS increase, so I'm sad.
