I have recently come back to Warframe after maybe a year away from the game and have noticed that near enough everybody I run into on the Index seemingly just refuses to bank any points, even to the detriment of our success? For a few days now every single player I've run into has done the same thing. They run around collecting all the points they can, often scooping them up before I have a chance to (I play Mesa) and then just refuse to bank them.
I know that you're rewarded for banking larger number of points, but these people just keep letting the timer run out on us when they're carrying easily 50+ points.
Am I missing something, has something changed since I've been gone?
I'm trying to grind out some credits for Baro and this is slowing my progress dramatically.
If there's something I should be doing different please can somebody point me in the right direction because I've never once had this issue with Index before in my many years of playing the game.

I play rhino and normally bank once I get to 20 points, I thought the bonus points stop increasing once you get to 20?

Yeah ive seen this recently too. They dont pay attention to the timer either, which is frustrating. Ive ran out of time more than once while spamming waypoints at the goal hoping someone will turn in their points they hogged. Hogging points is fine if youre actually gonna turn them in. Really frustrating when they dont.
If youre reading this and you dont really know what youre doing in the index, get 15 points and turn it in. Low investment will show 15 by your status bar, mid will show 16, and high will show 17. When you get 15 coins, its courtesy to turn them in and contimue the round. OR you can focus on doing dmg and have someone else pick up coins. Theres no pressure to pick up coins as long as youre killing people or defending rhe goal, and others are turning coins in. There are different ways to pull your weight

Can't remember when we did it, we would bank at 15 points? Only exception is if we running full 4-man squad we would have one bank at 15 nonstop, the other save 100 to insta win a round, final 2 buff and kill everything.

Recently? This has always been a thing, its typically Rhino players who arent paying attention (or trolling).
Literally played with a guy who refused to bank no matter what, he had 150 ish kills at the end. When I told him to bank he just said no and that it didn’t matter. Those were the longest rounds of index I’ve ever had, it’s like a specter that’s useless but they also steal ur points

Solo index cheese: use wukong, stare at the column that is near their bank ( lookingin that direction will make them spawn behind you and to the right), give the twin your best gun (I give him my kzarr but my friend does better with a bubonico). He'll get all of the kills and the bots will pick up the points. You'll probably have to bank in the first round or you'll run out of time, and it's a good idea to watch for enemies heading for the bank so you can kill them.
TIL people actually play public index.
Not 100% sure... but they might have builds specific to point hoarding or else if they were hogging as many points as you say they are they'd get gibbed for having 1 hp. I'd assume they are on airborne Wisp or a stealth frame and are looking to drop the full 100... They might expect you to do the majority of the killing and drop off regularly to keep the timer from expiring.
Everyone is doing something wrong if the time runs out though...
I'm trying to keep on top of the timer myself, but when it's just me banking the odd 2-3 points and two AI companions against somebody who's doing all they can to snatch the points out from under me and refusing to bank it's very hard to keep it up for the entire run!
