The Simulacrum is an artificial arena created by Cephalon Simaris that allows players to create multiple Mimeographs of enemies that the player had completed their Codex research on. Currently only the Mimeographs of normal enemies except Bosses and most Characters can be created.
The entrance of the Simulacrum is located on the left of the Sanctuary's entrance. Players must acquire a Simulacrum Access Key with
50,000 to gain access to the arena.

- The Citadel Simulacrum is the default Simulacrum with a wide open space featuring many tall pillars. The empty pits and lack of barriers make it possible to fall out of bounds.

Baruuk and
Gara standing side-by-side.

Mechanics[]
The maximum capacity of the number of Mimeographs that can be generated is set at 20. Enemy level can be set by the player, up to 5x their Mastery Rank plus 30. Although one can only generate 20 Mimeographs at one time, enemies with spawning capabilities such as Brood Mothers or Drahk Masters can create subsequent Mimeographs while engaged.

An overview of The Citadel Simulacrum as of Update 18.0 (2015-12-03)

Behind the Simulacrum where the Arsenal can be accessed

Dying in the Simulacrum, notice that there is no option to revive or abort
The location is in an open space area with white walls and pillars, similar to the ones in Mastery Rank tests. One of the rectangular pillars is a spawn stage where the player can interact with the console on top of it to create Mimeographs. There are also various Pickups dispensers including Energy Orb, Health Orb and Ammo on top of the stage which regenerates rapidly when consumed.
Once the Mimeographs are generated upon player request, they will begin engaging the player, though some enemies with limited engagement range will remain idle until the player jumps off the stage. Falling off the Simulacrum area will lead to an instant respawn to the last valid location. Since there is no way to "complete" the session, the player must leave the session by accessing the Main Menu via Esc . Hence, any progress such as Affinity (enemies do not give Affinity here upon defeat) and Standing gain will not remain after the simulation. Various components and items will drop similar to the Orokin Void but, with the exception of Credits, will not be retained after exiting the Simulacrum.
If the player dies, they will simply respawn at the normal spawn point and will not be given the choice of using revives or aborting the mission. As of Update 21.0 (2017-06-29), the Simulacrum is capable of multiplayer of up to 4 players in one instance.
Gear items will be limited until the player goes back to the arsenal, where they will be refilled to the player's current amount. Specters will always spawn at level 1, regardless of the level of enemies on the field or if there are not.

Nothing on battlegroups in here?
Simulacrum level srsly shouldnt not be bound by MR. MR doesnt even define a players capabilities lmao
It's an incentive to rank up your MR. Your latter thought is correct though.
The fact that yall made this capable of being used in multiplayer way back in 2017 and its now 2024 and I cant send the people in the simulation with me the build I am testing through the in chat link system yall ALSO made...is absolutely insane...fix this mess of a "feature" or don't bother having it and save my computer the space
Yeah im sure linking items in chat must take so much space on your computer... its 10 mb max stop crying about it dumbass
The enemy level should really be higher, your telling me I have to spend 8 hours in a survival to get destroyed by max level enemies?
Only for them to ban you for getting too many resources at once cause their anti cheat is ass
I was looking into the Sanctum room and it has a few unique features. Of course you get to make enemies 25 levels higher than usual, but this doesn't carry to any other rooms. There's also various breakable objects that you can find in the labs, some may drop ammo pickups and some drop corrosive or healing pools, none of them seem to respawn. Finally, there's a reactive crystal on the right side balcony. You can shoot it with your operator to open small path in ceiling, near the titans hand. There doesn't appear to be anything in there though, except an eye in the wall.
New Simulacrum skin came with Dante Unbound, it can be bought for 75 vessel capillaries and raises the default cap by 25 levels.
Honestly the ballroom simulacrum should flat out be default. The normal one is inefficient and annoying.
You can make enemies the steel path version if you beat all 241 steel path nodes and probably the junctions
Is this a recent change? Can't personally confirm myself unfortunately.
I've had the Steel Path checkbox in my Simulacrum for quite a while. I haven't done all the Steel Path nodes though. I assume you only need Steel Path unlocked.
Yeah saw it was added in U33.5: "Added “The Steel Path” option to the Simulacrum enemy settings. When enabled, enemies will have an additional +250% Health, Armor, and Shields."

With the existance of this sorry excuse of a "shooting range" I'll hereby swear to my kidneys that I'll NEVER complain about shooting ranges in any game what so ever from now on. The way to to unlock it in the frist place, puts Escape from Tarkov to shame. And the process of actually accessing it is just an outright drag, with no direct, one-step access what so ever, and at least TWO loading screens. And then using this thing for anything other than shooting guns is just awful. So you gotta SCAN the enemy first, fully, and then you can find them, in a huge list, where you must select the bugger, apply an enemy count, set a level, and then press simulate. There. Now you can kill. The enemy limit being 20 is okay until you realize that unless you kill all the enemies, you can't one-button respawn all of them, only the "missing" ones - but then re-killing those won't reset the count, for which you must, again, look for your simulated enemy, and select 20 of it. And if this is already not obnoxious enough, the layout of this "arena" is everything but fitting for a shooting range, with the enemies being VERY closely grouped together, making AOE testing or melee testing inprecise, plus, the poor things are situatied in the very, VERY edge of a bottomless pit, into which they can fall into from about 2-3 staggers. Aside all this crap, there is no way to see any kind of DPS counter, any way of combat log that might help you out with math, everything is as veague as the rest of the game. Complete, utter bollocks. Also no way to test weapons you don't have, apply formas or catalysits, or any form of testing utility that would require tons of grinding for just to be able to experiment with. This travesty is an insult to the playerbase and I sincerely, wholeheartedly despise it. I yield my time.
Click the kill enemies button, then exit out of the menu and access it again. The enemy spawn count will be the full amount again.
Why is there a level cap for spawned enemies? Why would that even matter?! How do people spawn level 999 enemies? The level cap should be 180 for rank 30, (30 x 5 + 30).
Sucks to return to warframe in December, missed the Ballroom Simulacrum
The fact you need to grind Simaris standing to get this and then you can't just access it from the orbiter is obnoxious. I don't care if D.E doesn't want people "living in the simulacrum", I'm throwing money at them, I'll live in Simaris' Metaverse if I damn well please.
Amen
Preach, slay king.
Any way to enter the Simulacrum directly from your orbiter? (i.e. which you should be able to)
Any way to fuse mods from within the Simulacrum? (i.e. which you should be able to)
That will never happen, and they have said that as well. D.E said they dont want people to start living only in Simulacrum.
You can access your arsenal from within the simulacrum right? So you should be able to access the mods screen too
I came here to post your first question. Glad to see it's already in the discourse.
Mods are practically impossible in simulacrum, it's held by basically glue in the form of code, it already can't track the fact that you put a forma on a weapon for nightwave purposes, imagine the whole mod menu
