Ephemera are a type of cosmetic item for Warframes and Operators. When equipped, they create special visual effects that emanate from the character's body.
Equipping[]
To equip an Ephemera, go to the "Arsenal" page, then click on a Warframe's "Appearance" tab. The Ephemera can be equipped in the option "Attachments" under the section labeled as "Ephemera".
The Ephemera section will not appear until at least one Ephemera has been obtained.

Archon Shard Series[]
The Archon Shard Ephemeras take into account what Archon Shards the Warframe has installed.
Expose the power that courses through you. This Ephemera dynamically updates with your Warframe's installed Archon Shards.
This Ephemera embeds a cosmetic Archon Shard through the Warframe's chest, which inherits the Warframe's Energy colors. When the Warframe stays still, all installed Shards will orbit around the Warframe, disappearing as soon as the Warframe moves.

Express the Archon's fury. This Ephemera dynamically updates with your Warframe's installed Archon Shards.

The Frostfall Ephemera was awarded during Tennobaum 2020 if over 120,000 gifts were given to other players. After standing still for a few seconds, the Ephemera will generate a cloud of snow.
The Purified Bloom Ephemera can be bought from the Market for 60 Platinum, or as part of the Emerald Renewal Bundle for 500 Platinum between January 12th - February 12th, 2023.
A dragon's spirit graces your path.
The Xianglong Ephemera can be bought from the Market for 60 Platinum, or as part of the Dragon Stone Bundle for 575 Platinum between January 24th - February 25th, 2024. The outermost, colored dragon will only appear after the player stays still for a moment, and will vanish once the player moves.
Sisters Series[]
Obtained from defeating a Corpus Sister, provided she has an Ephemera herself, regardless if she is Vanquished or Converted. Sisters have a 20% chance to appear with an Ephemera depending on the Warframe who created her. Unlike the Vengeful Ephemera, these Sisters Ephemera cannot be equipped on Companions, Archwings, or Necramechs.
An icily imperious Ephemera seized from a converted or vanquished Sister of Parvos.
Prior to Hotfix 27.0.11 (2020-01-16), this Ephemera dropped from Reinforced Sentient Storage Containers aboard the Sentient Anomaly in Veil Proxima.
The grey color of this ephemera cannot be changed for the most part, with only a few of the embers that fly off of the body inheriting the energy color of attachments.

Trio Orbit[]
Surround yourself with a trio of orbiting energy – earned on the Steel Path.
Obtained from defeating a Kuva Lich, provided the Lich has an Ephemera themselves, regardless if they are Vanquished or Converted. Liches have a 20%[1] chance to be generated with an Ephemera, depending on the Warframe who created them. Unlike most Ephemera listed here, these Ephemera can be equipped on Companions, Archwings, and Necramechs, though with a slightly subdued effect. Please take note of the following:
The Vengeful Trickster Ephemera has a more pronounced effect in-game than what is depicted below due to filesize restrictions.
Because of how Warframes are rendered in Archwing missions, the Vengeful Charge Ephemera becomes much more pronounced to the point of becoming visually jarring while using an Archwing or channeling Razorwing.
A shocking ephemera seized from a converted or vanquished Kuva Lich.
Ephemera will inherit the color of the Warframe's attachments energy color, rather than the emissive color.
An exception to this is Vengeful Shockwave Ephemera which the stones are not affected by any color selection. The beams of light coming off the stones can be colored using the Warframe's Energy color. However, it is affected by Rhino's Iron Skin by which it can change color according to the Warframe's tint color if Iron Skin was cast by Rhino Prime, just like the owner.
A few ephemera also inherit the color of the Warframe's attachments accents color: the dragon bodies of Baurahn Prime, the arms of the Raptwing ephemera, and the various arm/knee spikes from the Seraphayre ephemera.
All Ephemera and their blueprints are untradeable. The Vengeful and Sisters Ephemera are partial exceptions to this; while they cannot be traded by themselves, players can trade Converted Liches/Sisters who possess them, to others.
The Ephemera will be awarded to both the original progenitor of the Lich/Sister, and the buyer of the Converted Lich/Sister.
Gloriana, Zarina, and Lucretia translate to "Power In Prosperity, Prosperity In Victory".
Sybillina translate to "Analysing Projected Revenue Forecast" and "Integrating Offset Sector Income Differential".
Bugs[]
The Frostfall and Spinneret Ephemera will persist visually on an Operator in the Orbiter by simply previewing them. Even if neither are equipped they will both visually persist at the same time until leaving and returning to Operator mode, and is only bugged on the Orbiter itself.
The Eros Wings Ephemera's light trails persist when other Ephemeras are previewed within the menu until the Arsenal is left.

Belly of the Beast comes with a Community Progress segment, tracking the total Volatile Motes collected by players. As the total number of Volatile Motes collected ticks up, progress is made towards a new variant of the Jade Light Ephemera, unlocking it for purchase for all players at Ordis in the Larunda Relay.

Fixed True Master’s Font Blessing Statue not using correct colors for Ephemera. Certain wide span Ephemeras, such as the Eros Wings, won’t be visible on the True Master’s Font Blessing Statue by design to avoid creating visibility/clipping issues.

With this fix, we changed how all attachments react to energy color selection. Now, primary energy color can inherit the secondary energy color if only that one is selected (same to how Warframes do).

Cavalero has also updated his wares with new Ephemeras that are very inspired by Void Angel and Void Energy designs. Purchase the Blueprints for Standing and craft them to imbue yourself with the ethereal nature of the Void.

Dog Days Returns!
Dog Days returns on all platforms today at 2 p.m. ET and will run until June 29th at 2 p.m. ET. This year your favorite rewards return but there are some new additions that can be earned!
We were originally a little conservative with the Baurahn Prime Ephemera as to not visually overwhelm. Based on your feedback post launch we’ve made a few changes:
Aggressively reduced required idle times for the dragons to trigger.
Enabled Energy colouring for the dragons metal textures.
Previously the metal parts of the dragons were locked as gold. Now it takes the primary Energy colour, and if you have the secondary unlocked, the Energy element of the dragons will favour that - so you can colour the metal with the primary and the Energy with the secondary.
Increased scale of the smaller dragons.
Fixed the Baurahn Prime Ephemera FX playing when in Navigation view, which can be visually overwhelming.
The Blazing Step Ephemera has been removed from the Elite Sanctuary Onslaught rewards table and added to two places:

Out of the growing list of Ephemeras, Blazing Step was the more difficult to obtain due to its drop rate within the Elite Sanctuary Onslaught table. By taking Blazing Step out of the ESO table, the rewards within ESO will normalize and fill in the missing 1.01%. You now have the option to either spend your Vitus Essence in the Arbitrations Honor Store or by bringing demise to Railjack Commanders during your Railjack missions.
Fixed the game possibly having high memory usage if someone was spawning Spore Ephemera in the other room and the game wasn't properly cleaning up due to the player being out of sight.
Fixed the Vengeful Pull Ephemera being way too bright after customizing it and not inheriting Archwing scaling.
Fixed the Spore Ephemera showing the outline of Nidus’ wings in his Mutated state before he has enough stacks for them to actually show.
Fixed walk trail (Burning Step, Frozen Step, Fae Path, etc.) Ephemeras spawning half of the FX when equipped on a Warframe with Wisp’s floating animations.
Tenebrous Ephemera is now obtained from Little Duck using a token system.
Fixed the Vengeful Charge Ephemera providing constant light source for Mirage's Eclipse, resulting in a cosmetic granting the light buff to remain 99% of the time.
Tenebrous Ephemera Removal and Future Acquisition:
TEMPORARILY removed the Tenebrous Ephemera as a drop from Reinforced Sentient Containers aboard the Sentient Anomaly in Veil Proxima. The drop method is causing numerous issues in terms of connectivity stability and player frustration. We’re going to be changing the acquisition method that won’t involve a direct drop rate in a near future Hotfix/Update, and will instead be closer to a token system (complete X Anomaly missions to buy Ephemera from a vendor).
The Tenebrous Ephemera will be coming back as soon as possible in a better acquisition method

Fixed overzealous particle sizes on the Naberus, Corposant Prime, and Spore Ephemeras when in Archwing.
A bug now turned feature; Ephemera’s obtained from a Kuva Lich can now be equipped on Sentinels and Companions! For FX sake, this will be a slightly subdued version of the selected Ephemera. Non-Lich Ephemera functionally is in the works!
