One Archon Shard per WEEK?!
I just came back to the game a couple weeks ago. I'm catching up on content since I stopped playing a couple years back. I was excited when I saw the Archon Shards and looked up what they were used for.
I built the Helmith slot to use them... plugged in a Warframe and saw that I had 5 slots. I was thinking to myself "oh this will be great! I can boost up all my favorite frames to be able to handle Steel Path a bit better!"
Then I realized I can only get ONE shard per WEEK?! Jesus why is this time-gated so hard? I'll probably be onto a different game in a month or two and by then I might have the shards to get ONE frame socketed like I want?
You can technically get 2 per week, 1 from the mission, 1 from Veilbreaker
This is technically supposed to be endgame reward of some sort
You can buy an additional shard per week with Stock from the Kahl mission.
In the end, though, this is a live service free-to-play game. It's built to keep people coming back, so time-gating kind of comes with the territory. Up to you if that gels with you.
TBF we survived 2 years of Steel Path without Archon Shards. By no means are they needed to thrive in SP. At the very least you only use them to hit specific ability strength breakpoints that you can't yet achieve with modding, or to free up a slot of Natural Talent.
Exactly how many Fav-frames you got? Not 53 of them I must assume so on average it's around 5-6 frames and that means total of 30 shards are needed which translates into 15 weeks = 3.5 months and considering many of us played the game for several years, 1 season of Archon Shard collecting isn't much as you exaggerated to be.
And they can be removed too so you only need 5 of each shard for all combinations which is 15 shards in total =~ 1.8 months. I'd like to see your reaction after you found out Incarnon Adapter Gating or they're being sold for Platinum. Neither shards nor inc-adapters are essential to the core gameplay which can be done without having them. So problem isn't about the game but you stopped playing the game and angry at game instead.
We played for years without them. If you need archon shards to handle steel path
1 they aren't going to make that much of a difference
2 your build sucks and you need to start over.
It's not that my builds suck per say. More that I just haven't done enough Steel Path to get all the Arcanes and other stuff you need to be better at Steel Path. I'm not terrible at Steel Path, I can definitely hold my own, but I still die occasionally and I don't melt all the enemies like some other veterans can. I saw the Archon Shards and thought those could give me a nice boost while I work on getting more Arcanes and such.
Shards aren’t necessary. I have tons of extra shards I don’t use. I only use a few on a couple frames for utility: casting/parkour speed.
boohoo I haven't played the game for a couple of years and I can't get everything doing jack shit
that's how you sound
if a frame doesnt work without shards, it won't work with them
I'll probably be onto a different game in a month or two and by then I might have the shards to get ONE frame socketed like I want?
how many do you need if you arent even going to be playing the game? seems like a weird complaint. "why cant i log in for 6 weeks and max out everything before leaving again?"
