Pazuul is the current leader of Narmer who succeeded Ballas following his death in The New War. Introduced in Veilbreaker, Pazuul is an Archon formed by the union of Erra's body with the head of a demonic ram.
Lore[]
Tau System[]
Pazuul the Ram was once a Sentient Beast, which were Sentients created by Praghasa and Hunhow to serve as the peacekeepers of Tau. The Ram acted as the de facto leader of the beasts, with Boreal, Amar, and Nira only answering to him.
The other beasts participated in The Old War, dying and becoming resurrected by Erra who converted them into Archons; hybrid abominations of Sentient and Warframe.
Veilbreaker[]
Kahl-175 mentions that Pazuul's "body is dead worm", suggesting that Erra had died during The New War and Narmer had grafted the ram head onto his corpse.
During Archon Hunts, the Lotus remarks about Pazuul indeed being a reanimated Erra, with the ram acting as a parasite as it and the other vengeful Archons keep Erra's consciousness suppressed. She hopes her brother may be restored by defeating the other resurrected Archons.
The Lotus suggests that Pazuul is building something that requires a large amounts of resources to build. The function and purpose of Pazuul's creation currently remains unknown.
Trivia[]
- Pazuul's name may be derived from Pazuzu, a figure from ancient Mesopotamian religion who is depicted as an anthropomorphic being with an animal head, resembling the form of the Archons including Pazuul of a human-shaped entity with a beastly head.
- Occasionally during Archon Hunts, Erra's voice breaks through and he appeals to the Tenno for forgiveness. This suggests that some of Erra's mind, still remorseful since the climax of The New War, remains in Pazuul. This could also be Pazuul trying to manipulate the Tenno by using their knowledge of Erra's betrayal of Ballas against them.
- In contrast to the rest of the Archons, Pazuul's Archon Crystal is jammed across his skull, as opposed to being attached where the host body's head would normally be.
- Said Crystal does not appear in in-game transmissions, though this could just be a rendering error.

Pazuul you ungrateful Sentient! I put you through college and this is how you repay me?!
Man, imagine that some artist out there made some fanart of Pazuul mixed with Kai from Kong Fu Panda 3, Amar's Nepheri swords attached to long chains as Pazuul approaches cycling the sword and embers come from the gnashes that the swords make, make me hyped up. and you right Pazuul's voice acting is unhinged, but I do think one day we will get a deeper look into why he is a thing in the first place.
I love pazuul's unhinged voice acting
I think his Topaz shard indicates there's 2 more archons to find, the Violet and the Emerald, hopefully in Tau system maybe?
Some people forget about Lotus saying the Tenno made sure to kill Erra in the Old War, and yet here he was to die again. Poor Erra was a puppet in life and even death.
Yeah thats cool lore and all but...is that an amber archon shard in his skull? How many missions do we have to do before we can take it from him? I don't care if it doesn't actually kill him, i just hunger for the shiny space rocks.
Gonna be honest, I know the line that "in rare moments of clarity" is referencing and there's no way that's intended as a sincere apology. There's just too much mockery in his tone.
Erra is dead and the one who apologize is Pazuul not Erra.
My speculation is that the Narmer that remained after the fall of Narmer put Pazuul together. The subset of the Origin system's population that decided to take and keep their Veils willingly. Who else would've done it, besides?
It's quite tragic how Erra changed his mind and sacrificed his life to stop Narmer then gets reanimated beyond the grave to head a reanimated post-fall Narmer.
Wonder when would an update drop where we have a quest to kill him
PAZUUZUUU
:-)
Pazuul you ungrateful archon! I put you through college!
Where is the fucking head, the crytal?
Crital
Watch your language.
I have to wonder if the name might also be some reference to Zuul, from Ghostbusters... Sorta like they mashed "Pazuzu" and "Zuul" together to form a new name.
It's entirely possible.
Yes, Erra seems to still be there, even more, it seems he didn't really die from the ceilling falling on him, and instead the Archons are the ones who jammed "The Ram" head into Erra, if the Archons are alive, that means the crystal probably aren't what keeps them alive and instead is what stabilizes the fusion, I guess there's some poetic beauty to the idea of Erra making the archons, then having the Archons forcing him into becoming one as well
Still, I do feel a little bad for him. Turned into a real monster by his monsters just after realizing that he was being played by Ballas
Frankenstein's monster's monster
Erra was not forced to become an Archon, he died and his body became a shell to Pazuul.
Objective achieved. Well done. HURGGGGA
Equal parts hilarious and terrifying
Grow up you two
I wonder if Erra is still in there somewhere... if he was decapitated or his head was simply transformed by the Archon shard.
As he was the creator of the Archons, maybe it was a last ditch effort to jam the shard into his own head before he turned Eidolon?
Might be that some of the Narmer survivor just found the body of Erra and then jammed it with archon shard. But Phragasa that time already wrecked and nobody could survive in the vessel due to the proximity to the sun.
During some of the missions, Erra will send transissions as non-pazuul. Saying things like how sorry he is for all of this, and hoping the tenno will forgive him.
Gotta say his design and sound(trailer) are absolutely terrifying. The fact the Archon Crystal is just jammed in his head.
While I think Erra's death was lackluster, it makes sense he actually died : we were in the freaking Sun, after all.
It also showed some good spirit in his character, being that he proved himself more than capable of self-sacrifice.
Funny enough it never showed Praghasa exploding, so odds are everyone inside her ((Mostly sentients)) survived that trip to the Sun
So your telling me the dude whos father survived countless wars against gods, and whos sister survived the void, dies the the ceiling??
Can't say much about the power output of an Void beam. In theory it should be infinite energy but that is clearly not the case, a normal void beam without being focused trough an amp (what the operator uses in cutscenes) does lack luster damage.
he was fighting off sentients so if you assume he fought them off to meet with the tenno then kept fighting until he died then i guess it sorta makes sense
The void beam had infinite power originally but it got nerfed in an update.
Infinite power? Good thing they quickly nerfed it. Fun isn't allowed.
Pasta fazool
I am a fool
"Somehow...Erra returned."
Well his death was very lackluster and too "redemption" when wasn't earned, so I'm happy for the return or at least a version of him. Plus, we don't know if he's really Erra reborn or something else using the body.
His Voice is different than normal Erra was, so he's probably just a body to the real Pazuul
