If you're a new player struggling with the Ballas fight, amp damage is effected by framerate
My friend kept failing over and over during the phase where Ballas beams Lotus, doing only half a segment worth of damage by the time she died.
I had him cap his fps at 30 and he immediately killed each segment in like 0.3 seconds and finished it first try.
I have no idea why this still exists but after reading many threads about people being soft locked thinking their amp doesn't do enough damage I thought this could be pretty helpful.
So you are saying my 4080 is nerfing my damage?
1070 FTW!!!!
Guess being on Switch has its advantages after all…
Odd that this exists considering fps impacting damage seemingly does not exist anywhere else in the game
It's impacting Mesa as well
it can impact melee speed and fire rate of auto firing guns
Maybe i should try this.
I am using (As far as i know) the best amp you can get. And yet sometimes i run into other players who are doing like 5x more DPS than i am with their Amp and i can't for the life of me figure out where their DPS is coming from. It's not like i can go hunt better Amp Parts, i already am using the best parts. There isn't really anywhere else i can go to get more power out of my Amp so how the hell are some people doing WAY more damage than i am?
Sorry if this is an insulting question, it’s not meant to be, but are you using Onslaught and Eradicate on it?
I knew FPS and firerate had an interaction but shouldn't higher FPS lead to more damage?
I'm sorry, WHAT? I spent two HOURS on the Ballas fight, and the reason was because my PC was TOO GOOD? Goddamit DE

WTF
And melee attack speed is capped by framerate, with very fast melee weapons you need 120 fps to actually attack at their listed speed.
Thank you so much for this simple tip. I was having the problem I've read many had of the amp not causing enough damage so the Lotus always died.
Found my game was running at ~500fps. So capped it to 30fps, then could finally beat Ballas first try after that.
Thanks for this, have just spent ages on this fight because of this lol
