Notes[]
- Cannot be equipped with
Blunderbuss.
- Critical Deceleration is additive with similar mods.
Tips[]
- Useful on shotguns with high base critical chance (
Corinth,
Corinth Prime,
Kuva Hek, etc), and if you do not mind the slight fire rate penalty (can be worked around with
Shotgun Barrage).
Patch History[]
Update 30.5 (2021-07-06)
- Critical Deceleration - Critical Chance from 48% to 200% -30% fire rate to -20% fire rate can no longer stack with Blunderbuss/Primed Blunderbuss*** If we release that... Maybe.
Update 15.0 (2014-10-24)
- Introduced.

Compared to the Blunderbuss with it's 90% crit chance, this is a major upgrade.
One of the better mods for a crit primary
This mod is Eluding me so hard
Am I blind because there is nowhere on this page that says where to get this mod?
Currently doing some script maintenance right now so some stuff may be missing. There should be a pop-up on the lower left-hand corner mentioning this.
Could somebody just tell me how to farm it? It's still not on this page
It has a chance to drop from Orokin Vaults on Deimos.
This will get nerfed in the future. The buff is an oversight.

12-29-22, still the same stats. fortune telling is not your thing.
200% crit chance is just fine in 2024.
This is a big buff for the crit shotguns.
No shit.
Holy cow they just buffed this mod up the ass and I love it. 200% is awesome.
Yooooo they just updated Critical Decel. this patch (I think). 200% Crit is amazing, that's the highest multiplyer we have for shotguns now. Also the "Deceleration" is much less punishing at -20%, probably an auto slot for most crit shotguns.
Looking at the patch notes, they've changed all of the +Crit /-Fire rate corrupted mods to be +200% crit/-20& FR
BTW for those wondering, this seems to be patched to not able equipped alongside Point Strike anymore
nvm wrong mod lmao
Idk if this is just me, but whenever I put on both this and blunderbuss, my crit chance goes DOWN while using the Corinth Prime. With just blunderbuss, it's 57% crit chance, with just this mod, it's 44% with reduced firerate. With BOTH, it's 44% and reduced firerate???
Actually, with both is just 57%, just like a regular blunderbuss build only, is this a bug?
Needs a buff like Critical Delay.
Hope they change it to +187% like the other mods and not just blunderbuss with a negative
Won't be that much, maybe 120%. i'll happily settle for that.
And its now 200 haha
Massive bruh moment LOL
trash compared to Blunderbuss and Laser Sights. Crit Chance should be buffed to 168% so it would be worth using.
it's amazing easily it is demonstrated how little people understand about the math behind game mechanics when this and it's equivalent counterparts come into conversations.
for this to show a net profit in dps (not to mention ammo use/recoil/sometimes spread reduction and an increase in one-shotting ability) all that is required is for it's total net profit being higher than 18%. if you're not making a crit build that results in over 18% from putting this mod in then you're building wrong.
it's excellent on every full crit build, ok-ish (and probably replaceable for an easy net profit) on every hybrid build and bad on any non-crit build without some kind of gimmicky firing mechanism like being single shot (vectis prime) and tigris trigger types.
There is always this one retard, which defends every trash item in game by quoting "math".
"net profit in dps" .. compared to what? Ammo Stock?
Kinda funny, since even for the weapon that could benefit from this the most, it is just a straight up DPS loss.
He might have had a point about damage per shot, but even for that there are and were far better options in 2018
so is the crit chance additive or multiplicative?
Additive with other crit mods, multiplicative with the base value, just like pretty much every other mod in the game.
Is this good on Tigris Prime?
I guess, due to it's awkward firing mechanic makes the negative part do jack sh*t
With a crit% of 10, no.
Now that the vaykor hek is out, I still think this is bad! Not worth a mod slot for a %48 crit.
With blunderbuss + CD: 59.5%
With blunderbuss: 47.5%
WIth CD: 37%
Can anyone confirm the supposed Critical Deceleration buff? I don't have the mod myself, so I can't check for the accuracy of the latest edit.
The Fire Rate reduction does start at 5% instead of 6%. I don't have it upgraded, but I suppose it does increment with 5% instead of 6%
The first time i open a orokin vault i get this crap :(
F
Such a shame there's currently no weapon this is actually useful on. To be honest both this and Critical Delay should offer much larger Crit bonuses due to the fire rate reduction, makes no sense for point strike to be 3x better with no drawback.
Or for Blunderbuss to be nearly 2x better with no penalty.
I was literally just saying a similar thing to myself. I actually said it out loud. Point Strike is 3x better plus it has a higher fire rate and it costs a third and it is an early drop. But that's DE for you. Stuff can be off by 3x, they won't notice shit.
Critical delay for example is justifiable on Amprex. Basically to have some use the weapon must:
- Be red crit capable and probably already slightly above 100% crit before using this mod.
- Be ammo inefficient but reactive.(kind of continuous weapon, preferably hitscan)
Tho I don't know any red crit shotgun, mb one with HIGH fire rate (boar P) may justify it for everyday, lower tier missions as a bullet savior.
Nah, crit chance on Boar (or at least Boar Prime) isn't good enough to use this.
While the Boar Prime CAN be made better or more usable with a negative fire rate mod, the better mod for that by far is Tainted Shell, which turns the Boar Prime from a spray-and-pray cannon into an instrument of precision death.
But yeah basically this mod is pointless. The only use for Critical Delay is the Amprex and MAYBE (depends on enemies) the Rakta Cernos. Meanwhile Shotguns have no such equivelent weapon.
Prime example of Scott having no idea about his own game mechanics - absolutely usless mod wich negative impacts DPS for most weapons
Would this be good for tigris? Technically, the firerate wont be affected.
Which would be negligible unless you extend your clipsize past 2.
It will affect delay between last shot and reloading
Running Tirgis with +30% ammo stock gives you an extra shot .. that is useful.
This mod in the Tirgis : 5% critcal chance is increased to about 7%, maybe 8% .. that is 'not' useful.
I have tried decreasing fire rate on Tigris. It disables the double-shot, replacing it with two single shots which can be fairly annoying when you're used to bursting people in the face.
