Lore
- Main article: Call of the Tempestarii
Sevagoth was the captain of The Tempestarii, an Old War Railjack highly renown for its rescue services. However, one day Sevagoth was lost to the Void during a Void Storm, but commanded his Shadow to continue to pilot the Tempestarii to search for his body as the ship's final rescue mission, effectively becoming a ghost ship.
The Tempestarii made an enemy of Corpus Captain Vala Glarios, who was the sole survivor of the ship's attack on Lucretia Platform. Left adrift in space among the fragments of her dead crew, she sought revenge.
Cephalon Cy and the Tenno come across the Tempestarii in the Veil Proxima. After learning about the ship from Corpus logs in the Pluto Proxima, Cy is able to appease the Tempestarii by pleading as a ship in distress. The Shadow entrusts the Tenno a corrupted navigation log, which they repair, but are ambushed by Vala. The Tempestarii counterattacks and banishes Vala to the Granum Void before making a jump to the Void to complete the ship's final rescue mission.
The Tenno retrieve a lifepod containing Sevagoth's corpse, reuniting him with his Shadow. Now at peace, the Tenno delivers him a ship burial by launching his body back into the Void.
Notes
- When Sevagoth wields his signature
Epitaph/
Epitaph Prime, the weapon deals +20% headshot damage.
Trivia
- Sevagoth is the 46th unique Warframe to be released.
- Sevagoth was first revealed during Tennocon 2020's Art of Warframe Panel, under the codename "Wraithe", alongside
Lavos. Initially planned to release with Lavos, Sevagoth was pushed back to 2021 for further development and to coincide with other content releases.
- Sevagoth's name and abilities were revealed in Devstream 151. His Shadow, its exalted claw weapon, and signature secondary weapon were briefly showcased in Devstream 152.
- Sevagoth is the second community-made Warframe concept created by community artist and now Digital Extremes staff Liger "Volkovyi" Inuzuka, after
Zephyr's integration into the game. Much of the initial Warframe concept has been fine-tuned and integrated into the finalized design.[1][2]
- The first placeholder ability Reap unleashes the Shadow instead of a flying shadowy claw, with the dashing function integrated into the Shadow's
Consume ability. - The second placeholder ability Blackhole was replaced by
Sow. The soul vortex visual effect remains as a brief animation for
Reap's Shadow when it dissipates. - The third placeholder ability Tombstone was designed with similar functionality as
Protea's
Temporal Anchor, before Protea's eventual release. The area of effect aura aspect has been adopted by
Gloom, while the tombstone model has been integrated into the passive ability. - The fourth placeholder ability The Harvest remains similar to
Exalted Shadow in wielding control over an exalted form.
- The first placeholder ability Reap unleashes the Shadow instead of a flying shadowy claw, with the dashing function integrated into the Shadow's
- Sevagoth is the seventh Warframe with unique rolling animations, after
Limbo,
Hildryn,
Wisp,
Titania Prime,
Protea, and
Xaku, where he launches himself slightly in the air and rolls sideways mid-air. - Sevagoth is one of few Warframes known to have voices, with the others being
Valkyr/
Valkyr Prime,
Excalibur Umbra,
Harrow (Rell),
Nidus (
Ravenous) and
Protea (Protea Specter). - Sevagoth is the first Warframe to innately allow the player to create and take control of an exalted form with distinct abilities.
- While using
Exalted Shadow, the skybox displays a vortex based off of Sevagoth's energy color. - With a maxed
Redirection, his shields equal to 666, the number of the beast/Devil. This also happens with Nekros. - Sevagoth's Shadow appears behind him momentarily during his Agile idle animation.[3]
- On April Fools Day 2021, the advertisement for FashionFace featured the Sevagoth's Shadow Collection of makeup color shades for your gothic aesthetic needs.[4]
Bugs
- Similar to
Equinox Prime, the Helminth cyst is not visible on Sevagoth's neck, but instead inside his head. - Sevagoth has several affinity-related bugs, detailed here. Bugs of note:
- If you enter a conduit within Sanctuary Onslaught while in shadow form, you will not receive the focus buff provided at the start of the round.
- While in shadow form, you do not recieve the correct amount of focus. During testing, it was found that weapons with lens were not receiving focus while in shadow form (similar to how they will not receive focus while using
Titania's
Razorwing.) Unlike Razorwing and other Exalted Weapon kills, Sevagoth appears to be gaining 25% of the affinity / focus, with the remaining 75% being given to Shadow's claws (which once fully leveled, becomes wasted affinity). The result is that a frame like Titania may gain 1-2k focus in a single round of ESO, while a Sevagoth using shadow form may gain 100-500 during that same period.
- If you're extracted while downed you'll be shown in tombstone form rather than the regular state.

I'm a shadow always with youu~
Ha furry
I can take him.
In a fight right?
No.
Ok so the lore for Sevagoth goes Sevagoth Prime -> Shadow Prime -> Shadow?
When Liger designed the deluxe, at first they made an "uncorrupted" version, which is the basis for the Prime look. I guess the idea was Sevagoth Prime + Prime Shadow > Sevagoth (Tenno) + Shadow (Tenno) > Void corruption.
So I guess in the end the Void eroded both, Sevagoth's body and its Shadow. At the end of the day the Shadow is still made of Infested tissue, so...
I'm going to be optimistic and assume archon shards on sevagoth buff his shadow in addition to himself.
That would be a good perspective, for one of the tool tips under Exalted Shadow's ability page notes: "Sevagoth's Shadow will benefit from Archon Shards slotted into Sevagoth himself." I just tested it right now for you and yes, it still works and applies to the Shadow!
Also, thank you for posting this because I was wondering the same thing today and you caught my attention to validate Sevagoth's Shadow interaction. Good timing!
He didn't deserve this prime yet and people need to stop ignoring that
He didnt deserve all the nerfs (fixes) and introduced bugs he got with prime
I know how it feel after DE skip my fav frame for the prime
There is "shadow gating" where after the use of Exalted Shadow the shadow will be invincible for a couple of seconds
It seems that the shadow clones triggered by Shadow Haze while in shadow form scale with Sevagoth (not shadow) stats and buffs active on Sevagoth, including the crit from Shadow Haze and the vulnerability
Dark Propagation that is triggered in shadow form using Death's Harvest augment seems to scale by shadow stats
What this means is if you build Sevagoth with Strenght, you will get the most from the Reap debuffs and the debuff stats will carry over to the shadow form, also you will boost the Exalted Shadow aka the melee damage substantially.
At the same time if you build the Shadow with Range, you can group enemies from extreme distances with Embrace, and your Death's Harvest will work as a superior version of Sow with better range and additional damage vulnerability debuff while being basically for free since you should be using Preparation on shadow (and even if not he always start with some energy present).
I understand that it may be too much complex to swap back and forth, not to mention the forma cost so, if you use Sevagoth only as nuke, just subsume over his Gloom, and use 4 as inbuilt rolling guard and sow caster :)
The invincibility lasts 6 seconds and only applies to the shadow when you get into it, it doesn't have CD so you can just go into shadow for 6s, then 4 > 4 back to back into shadow for another 6s invincibility
Wait, the debuff from death's harvest stack with reap?
They don't stack:In fact they're literally the same debuff, and non-refreshable. Note that while Death's Harvest(ability) obviously scales based on Shadow's Stats, specifically the critical chance aspect always scale with Sevagoth's stats. Something I only just recorrected by myself on.
On a similar note, I recorrect myself by saying Dark Propagation's Spread on kill radius also always uses Sevagoth's stats, despite the the spread of Sow being able to inherent Shadow's strength and duration.
That is my current news on "What the Void is going on with this weird pair of Warframes?"
Does this make sense with the lore… not really, is this what ide think a Space pirate would be like… ow ya
There's a mistake about shadow claws. Unlike other exalted weapons which can benefit from the Gladiator Mod Set if equipped on melee, shadow claws can't.
Guess thats due to shadow claw belongs to the shadow which can't equip a melee weapon.
Considering that shadow cant benefit from Augur set bonus i would say it may be a bug, not a feature
Does the interaction with 25% true damage scale with strength ? (the blast 25% dosnt but im asking about the true damage part)
It doesn't get increased by strength.
However, it will get increased by Reap's damage buff (if already applied), and that one scales with Strength
Jesus Christ Liger!!!
You can't just drop "Thicc Daddy Pirate Ninja Thighs" without warning

I will spare your eyes of the detail, but I just want it to be out there that I would let Sevagoth do unholy things to me
Oh my god sevagoth prime.
well, if i wasnt gay before...
Dark Propagation missing in the alternate equipment ?
Also does Quick Thinking work with the shadow form ? considering it has massive life steel but near no defenses it may be worth it maybe? and if yes does it work with the passive form after being killed, since you dont use energy but still have it it could but idk, that one is litle bit harder to test?
Anyone else think his Shadow feels very detached (heh) from his whole kit? Pretty much everything in his kit focuses around applying dots and detonating them and you build up his Well for... a Melee focused play-style?
I guess that's one way to look at it, but if you use both Augments, Reap will just chain around by itself and tag mobs that are even in other rooms, so the Sow dot will transfer as soon as they get into the range of the mobs around you, pretty much making the Shadow's Embrace pretty pointless if stuff just dies in a 30m radius around you. I don't want to invest any forma into him since his prime is coming out next, but so far the Shadow just feels like either a panic button (which won't be needed once I have him decked out) or a change of pace.
The build variety for both of them is still a thing I won't discredit, since you can make some cool stuff with them.
As for Equinox, it's always funny when you try an older frame and their major issues become apparent so damn fast. Equinox should have two forms to mod and fashion separately, the 4 augment should be baseline, her 3 should stay on after Metamorphosis and overall reward constant swapping, not punish players that do so. But that's just Waframe, it's a shame at times you're forced to play the newer ones because they feel so much better to play.
Embrace thing is pretty much purely to ensure all the enemies get hit by each other's detonations, which is very much overkill in the majority in scenarios.(Especially when you can just spam reap instead) But yeah, Reap+Augment alone isn't quite as reliable as Death's Harvest because for the most part they're locked to the ground, obey walls, and the clones are stuck with an AI that's quite prone to getting side-tracked. It's definitely not a big enough difference on it's own to make it worth throwing forma though.(Epecially thanks to prime coming in a few months)
A more notable aspect is that Death's Harvest+Sow augment scales based on the Shadow's stats, which allows Sevagoth to more comfortably go into negative duration. That also gives a bonus of insuring the reap clones don't stay in a completely different room for 6+ seconds due to being unable to refresh them.(my current build has sevagoth at 43% duration, which puts the clones at 2.55 seconds)
Equinox is one of many frames I could go on for quite a few paragraphs on changes, but at the same time is stuck on the power level of "just good enough" to be really unlikely to get a proper tune-up soon, which is quite a shame considering I see alot of potiential in her kit.
My bad, I misunderstood what Dark Propagation did, I though the second effect read it inflicts Slow, not Sow, which honestly changes everything.
I didn't want to invest any forma in them since the Prime is coming out, but even without any Reactors or Forma, he's really strong.
With both Augments he's a ton of fun, although I'd wish DE would stop patchworking bad designs with them since for some frames, the Augments really restrict your build options if they have too many that are needed to make a functional build.
IMO if you invest a bit into the shadow you get 2 bonuses, the 3 will trigger both aguments and if you die in the shadow you just get sent back to your sevagoth
The Forma Sink Frame
8 formas = nope
No the hell its not.
If you don't like the shadow then you can replace it with terrify. Slow them down. Armor strip and gone
Gloom already has slow down
I don't think armor stripping is needed because his skills do true damage
Sevagoth Prime is gonna take a lot of my forma. He's gonna be so worth it.
Primes are barely an upgrade, so what if you have a little more Health and Shield.
Fashion. Need I say more?
Prime comes with additional polarities, which means less formas :D
And yes.. They look beautiful.
Time to save up on some formas again
Well, I got the last part (systems) just like 30 mins ago... At least I didn`t invested in him yet
Why did they have to skip xaku and lavos for this meh frame to get a prime first? -.-
Only because they gave him the new augment recently, he wasn't known to be a forma-grave or gloom-subsume for nothing.
No no, they're right. Sevagoth is meh so we need more Sevagoth buffs.
Gloom should also deal continuous damage to all enemies within its range as long as Sevagoth is the one using it (means it doesn't work on subsumed Gloom). Sevagoth just needs more love right now.
A warframe that has 200kpm and oneshots any enemy at any level is meh? How in the world did you guys come into such conclusion?
Subsume Roar, get 255% ability strength, get both of his augments and everything dies in giant moving AoE. He is Saryn but edgy.
But like, wouldn't it be funny if Sevagoth gets more buffs instead lol, imagine getting your Prime version faster than Xaku and Lavos, 2 beloved frames, and then you receive more buffs on top of it.
