The Ignis Wraith is the Wraith version of the
Ignis flamethrower, featuring improved critical chance, status chance, and magazine size.
Characteristics[]
- This weapon deals
Heat damage. - Beam:
- Beam has a thickness of 0.15 meters, largest beam thickness of all continuous weapons.
- Because of this and the pinpoint accuracy,
Heavy Caliber's penalty is negligible on this weapon.
- Because of this and the pinpoint accuracy,
- Consumes 0.5 ammo per tick of damage.
- Damage ramps up from 35% to 100% over 0.6 seconds when firing. After firing stops for 0.8 seconds, the damage decays back to 35% over 2 seconds.
- Limited beam range of 27 meters (+3m blast radius at the endpoint resulting in a total range of 30m).
Sinister Reach can be equipped to extend the maximum range.
- Beam has a thickness of 0.15 meters, largest beam thickness of all continuous weapons.
- The zone of impact or maximum beam range has a spherical blast radius of 3 meters, allowing it to hit multiple enemies at once.
- Can benefit from
Firestorm (
Primed). - Area of effect can headshot (bug).
- Area of effect does not inflict self-stagger and has no Damage Falloff.
- Multishot has no effect on the radial damage like other AoE continuous weapons.
- Can benefit from
Advantages over other Primary weapons (excluding modular weapons):
- Pinpoint accuracy.
- Innate Infinite Body Punch Through.
- Normal Attack (wiki attack index 1)
- High reload speed (1.70 s)
- Very high magazine (200)
- Above average fire rate (8.00 attacks/sec)
- Above average status chance (29.00%)
- High crit multiplier (2.50x)
Disadvantages over other Primary weapons (excluding modular weapons):
- Innate punch through does not apply to surfaces, requiring punch through mods.
- Normal Attack (wiki attack index 1)
- Below average crit chance (17.00%)
- Low total damage (35)
- Very low disposition (●○○○○ (0.55x))
See WARFRAME Wiki:Stat Comparison/Percentiles for more details.

Notes[]
- The Ignis Wraith's hit detection is composed of two parts:
- A perfectly accurate central beam that reaches up to 27 meters. This beam has a 0.15-meter thickness, unlike other beam weapons whose beams are very narrow.
- A spherical blast with 3 meters radius appears at the zone of impact or at maximum range.
- Punch through affects the location of the weapon's area of affect. The weapon's area of affect is applied at the final point of contact where the beam ends rather than whenever the beam punches through an enemy or object.
Sinister Reach only affects the beam range, not the beam thickness and the area of effect.
Firestorm only affects the area of effect, not the beam thickness and the beam range.
- When combined with other elemental mods, such as
Cold, it will no longer deal the original fire damage, losing its high bonus versus Infested (+50%).
- The Ignis Wraith's spherical AoE can destroy rockets launched from a Bombard's
Ogris.
- The Ignis Wraith can deal headshots and target enemy weak spots.
Tips[]
Hellfire and
Wildfire apply
Heat damage to the weapon. They do not act like base damage mods, but rather stack with the innate
Heat damage of the weapon.- Adding
Corrosive,
Magnetic, or
Gas in addition to
Heat damage makes the Ignis very effective versus Grineer / Corpus / Deimos Infested. - It is a wise idea to equip a long-ranged weapon in your secondary slot when using the Ignis Wraith.
- It is unwise to have Specters equip this gun as they only fire on targets when they are ~10m away from them.
Combustion Beam can be equipped to the Ignis Wraith, causing enemies to deal damage on death to other nearby enemies. This aids in crowd control and quicker elimination of weaker and closely-grouped enemies.- Due to its nature of AoE, this weapon is particularly effective against destructible projectiles.
- Adding
Heavy Caliber as a second
Serration results in an increase of damage. The reduction of accuracy will cause the beam to slightly waver, which is a negative for most weapons, but is arguably a benefit for the Ignis as the effective AoE spread will widen slightly.
- The loss in accuracy is small enough that the central beam will still land headshots consistently at maximum distance, even with
Sinister Reach equipped.
- The loss in accuracy is small enough that the central beam will still land headshots consistently at maximum distance, even with
- The Ignis Wraith is designed to deal with crowds, spreading low damage but hitting all enemies in range, where most other weapons (besides explosive dealing AoE weapons) are single or multi-target. In other words, the larger the crowd, the better the weapon becomes at distributing damage compared to most other weapons.
- The Ignis Wraith is very useful in reactor core Sabotage missions, as its spherical AoE allows it to destroy several exposed reactor cores at once.
- Shade's
Ghost can activate even if the Ignis Wraith is being fired, so long as the fire key is held down upon Ghost's activation.
- This is more effective on the Wraith variant, as it has 50 more magazine capacity over the original, allowing more time to be cloaked and deal damage.
Sinister Reach can also be equipped on the Ignis Wraith, greatly increasing the range of its central beam. This will also move the spherical AoE forward by the same distance.- The radius of the spherical AoE can be increased with
Firestorm.
Trivia[]
- Ignis Wraith could previously be obtained from:
- Introduced in Operation: The Pacifism Defect event. The exact form in which the weapon can be acquired differs depending on the level of participation during the event:
- All participating players in Clans that achieved the specified Clan Participation Score (e.g. 260 for Ghost clans) received an Ignis Wraith blueprint at the end of the event.
- All players in a Clan that achieved the specified Victory Score during the event (e.g. 4,000 for Ghost clans) immediately received a complete Ignis Wraith with a free weapon slot and a pre-installed Orokin Catalyst.
- Clans that placed within the top 10% scoring clans in their tier received Research for the Ignis Wraith in the Clan Dojo's Chem Lab at the end of the event. The research costed 5,000
Credits, 1,000
Detonite Ampule, 4,000
Alloy Plate, 2,500
Rubedo, and 2,000
Plastids at Ghost Clan tier.
- The yearly February Star Days event had Ticker in Fortuna sell the blueprint for 25
Advances Debt-Bond. - Prior to Update 32.0 (2022-09-07) the blueprint could be traded between players.
- Introduced in Operation: The Pacifism Defect event. The exact form in which the weapon can be acquired differs depending on the level of participation during the event:
- The Ignis Wraith was hinted at by a forum post sent by Rebecca Ford regarding the then-upcoming The Pacifism Defect event that was an Acrostic, a form of writing where the first letter of each line spells out a word or words.[1] The message, with the first letter of each line bolded for clarity, read as follows:
Bugs[]
- The flame effect will vanish when pressing the fire button in short bursts, causing the weapon to sometimes be firing invisible flames.

Patch History[]
Hotfix 32.1.4 (2022-11-09)
- Increased the Ignis Wraith’s Blueprint replication price from 15k to 20k Credits.
- Recently the Ignis Wraith Blueprint was made accessible to all clans. This included making the Blueprint sellable for the price it was sold at, so stockpilers could regain the credits they spent. With matching buy and sell prices, some players were moving large quantities of blueprints for net zero gain, which caused unexpected problems.
Update 32.0 (2022-09-07)
- Ammo Pick Up
Ammo Pickup Overrides
The following weapons now have ammo pickup overrides, meaning they gain less from picking up ammo. This mostly applies to AoE weapons, in hopes that players will become more deliberate with their aim to make the most of their Ammo pools. The following lists the specific ammo pick up overrides per weapon category.
40 Ammo per Pick Up:
- Ignis Wraith
Many weapons have also had their maximum ammo capacity adjusted.
Primary Weapons:
- (Undocumented) Ignis Wraith: From 800 to 200
- Headshot Damage Changes
During playtesting, the ammo changes alone weren’t enough to significantly change things for AoE weapons. So instead of tightening these values to be overly restrictive, we chose to address other factors that make these weapons so strong, such as headshot damage.
Our approach here is two-fold, to reduce the impact of headshots for AOE weapons, but to also make precision headshots pack a larger punch overall.
- Radial damage no longer gains extra headshot damage or triggers headshot conditions.
- This is primarily targeted at the Ignis Wraith - as a “flamethrower” weapon, it’s hard to imagine a blanket of elements being precise enough to target weak points specifically. Explosive projectiles themselves can still land headshots, so there is still a reason to aim with most weapons for maximum damage.
- DOJO/CLAN CHANGES & FIXES:
- Ignis Wraith Research is now available to all Clans!
- Take a trip down memory lane with me as we travel back to 2017. Operation: The Pacifism Defect event concludes, and the top 10% of Clans in their tier are awarded the Research for the Ignis Wraith. Fast forward to 2022, and Research remains within those Clans, showing some unfortunate side effects of Trading manipulation. After internal discussion, the team decided to add the Ignis Wraith Research to all Clans with some rules:
- Ignis Wraith Blueprint Research requires the Clan to have a Rank of 10 and will be
three timesmore expensive - we believe it’s vital that Clans earn the Research for those who did not place in the Operation. (Patch notes are inaccurate, cost increase is not 3x across the board; cost went from 5k Credits, 1k Detonite Ampule, 4k Alloy Plate, 2.5k Rubedo, and 2k Plastids to 5k Credits, 3k Detonite Ampule, 20k Alloy Plate, 15k Rubedo, and 10k Plastids at base Clan tier) - Ignis Wraith Blueprint is now untradable - protecting players from Trade manipulation who might be unaware that it’s now available in Clan Research.
- Ignis Wraith Blueprint's sell price is now equal to the acquire price of 15,000 Credits - Allowing those who might have stockpiled Blueprints for Trading purposes to make back their Credits.
- Ignis Wraith Blueprint Research requires the Clan to have a Rank of 10 and will be

DAMAGE PER PROJECTILE? Gas is counted as projectile now?
So would "damage per damage instance" be a more accurate way of describing damage divided by multishot?
iirc somewhere it once has been stated as a damage 'tick' or simply 'hit' which imo suits the sense of vulnerability to flames much better. though its rather an 'intensity-per-second' kind of damage entity.
The way Ignis works is by pretending each time ammo is consumed a really big bullet is shot, that hits multiple targets etc. thats why dmg per projectile. Pay attention to when others use an ignis in your game, you can see, that the "shots" behave like bullets.
At 1 dispo, the best you can do is a riven for crits and then hunter munitions, but it is still underwhelming because of the pew-pew damage and close range. A short-range primary that inflicts massive status that is epic better is Phantasma. You can mod ignis as a status hose but you will need a melee or pistol to make kills. Having said all of that, heat is still a great stackable crowd control in the game so if that is what you want, this weapon does that.
So I got a Riven for the Ignis (Wraith).
Haven't used it in a long time (about 8 months] so thought I'll give it a go again.
Rolled it 8 times and got Ignis Lexi-Critatis: 1,5m Punch Through, 57% CD, 74,7% CC and -20,4% Ammo Maximum.
Was wondering why Punch Through wasn't listed at all in the stats until I read the wiki :/
After a few relic runs though it still is a fun toaster. May need to take it out more often ;)
Edit: Values in Armoury after Riven Dispo
Just put 2x green shards for 14 corrosive procs, build ignis for corrosive + heat.
MayB throw in some nourish
Thanks for the reply.
I'm not really a Shard collector as I can't be bothered doing those missions.
But I'll keep it in mind, cheers.
Ye Olde Flame-spewer. Metas come and go, but there's just something about burning an enemy to a crisp that makes the Ignis Wraith an evergreen tool of death.
Is this gun relegated to Normal Starmap now? I took mine into Steel Path Sedna boss for cheesing the wheel mechanic, and the damage it does to SP Grineer is a joke.
Eh just put Hunter Munitions to ignis wraith build, and it will bypass armor. People are bringing ignis even to level cap
Ignis wraith blueprint was tradeable, not it's not. I kept one for my apprentice in my clan, now i'm left with credits :/
Good.
"good"? you must be a cool guy to hang out with
Lmao people actually enjoy this weapon
Who doesn't enjoy burning? An anti-arsonist!
Sounds like the op here had some sour grapes on not knowing how to use the flamethower... Ignis can be a very fun weapon, once you get used to it. Many people love it.
It used to be the go to top tier flamethrower
I guess fun isnt for everyone
Just a few days and i will get this just 1 more rank.
You're a few patches too late friend. The weapon has already been giga nerfed. It's still pretty good, just not top tier anymore.
I love weapons like this(flamethrowers) and its my first useful weapon.
Maybe somehow add a separate chem lab research tab for 32.0 change with exact numbers and not the "three times more costly"? For ghost clan its 5k creds, 3k detonite, 20k alloys, 15k rubedo, 10k plastids.
Updated the cost, thanks.
My ammopickup is 13-17 so i guess it was nerfed again? EDIT: i just noticed the incredible nerf of maximum ammo that explain every thing...
Maximum ammo is independent of ammo pickup though. Does it not have 40 ammo pickup listed in the arsenal?
Yes it does but i have that awfull habit of reloading whenever i can... as i said it explained everything
Galvanized Aptitude works with this.
I don't understand DE's logic about how a wall of fire couldn't hit a weak point specifically when it would specifically hit everything including the weak point if it's in the AOE
Still use the Ignis Wraith to this day and it's my most used primary. Ammo changes don't affect me.
DE nerfing guns to make ppl stop using them
Yeah no effect i just used it and it doesn't run out of ammo at all.. so if you can't use it then fix your build.
RIP the Ignis Wraith.
Due to the ammo changes this thing runs out of ammo real fast now.
Wouldn't be so bad if they didn't also remove Primary Merciless's ammo buff it gave too.
I can understand the AOE nerf but some of the changes they did was uncalled for like Merciless an Arcane you can only get through steel path getting a nerf that made it useless on all guns that aren't battery guns.
Thanks a lot DE only good thing about this gun now is you everyone can get it at their Dojo now but now it is MR fodder because the ammo changes made not usable anymore.
Yeah in early missions it doesn't run out of ammo.
In hire tier missions it can barely keep ammo no matter what build I use.
"Yeah no effect i just used it and it doesn't run out of ammo at all.. so if you can't use it then fix your build."
Dude, you sound like a broken record player and an attention whore. "Fix your build" yeah: slapping on Vigilante Supplies or an Ammo Mutation mod won't fix the fact that this runs out of ammo pretty quickly, and that the ammo drop nerfs make ammo mutation mods and Carrier in general pretty garbage if there's virtually no ammo to convert.
Just what kind of build are you playing that you run out of ammo? I'm even using vile acceleration and have absolutely no ammo issues in any missions on the normal star chart. SP is a different story, but ignis was never great for that anyways.
just go for viral/heat with a bit of crit on the side and it still shreds everything in normal missions.
If you're running into ammo issues, you really just need to slap a maxed rifle ammo mutation on the exilus slot, and stick Blood for Ammo on parizon for tougher enemies. If you REALLY need more ammo, buy a 100x Large Ammo blueprint from a dojo and build a few of those, stick them on your gear wheel, and use as needed. If that's not enough, learn how to use the weapon properly. Give the trigger a break now and then, if there's not many enemies nearby. Use your secondary and melee weapons now and then. Generally, play more tactically and less AFK style...
DE finally added these to ALL dojos to be redeemed. RIP to scammers!
You do realize selling the bp was what brought it back to all clans right?
Why would anyone buy this for plat as a bp though, it costed credits to replicate the blueprint. If someone bought it for plat they were just ignorant since when I played on xbox a few years back I'd just give people the BP for free just to spite anyone trying to sell the BP.
Same I usually traded the BP for a common Mod or something
KIREEK can suck a f*cking huge d1ck now robbing newbies selling this weapon in high plat prices.
Yeah, Ignis Wraith was meant to be free, not sold for plat. Also, Baro should not have sold this because then he was also scamming new players.
That b1tch is 10k hours played and had no shame to steal new people, I hate him so much for this, and DE to allow it to go on for so much time.
You guys sure need a reality check.
Oh no someone is selling an item for a value that makes me mentally affected, the audacity, the horror.
Some usrs really are silly, just mind your own trades and you'll actually enjoy the game more
It seems DE pulled off a plat-farm nerf, and have made this BP no longer tradeable in the Veilbreaker update September 2022. When people asked to buy it recently, i searched the trade screen by "owned items" and the Ignis Wraith no longer shows up. I also searched for the weapon using the search bar in the trade window but again, nothing appears.
I sold this weapon for years, and being able to do so was a good reward for those who farmed it for their clan during the event. I provided a service to other Tenno by making this weapon more readily available for a reasonable price (5p). For a long time, it was good. I don't understand the reason why DE felt the need to stomp their boot on those of us who made plat from it and in turn, making it harder for players to acquire.
The replies here are just hilarious, selling an item was a scam? get real guys.
The key part is that they were selling an item that they have an infinite free supply of for way more than it was worth, due to lacking information on one party.
@Ladyvan
Seems like you were just jealous of the players that were rewarded in the giveaway.
So you got nothing, big deal, let the buyers atleast enjoy their boosters, forma and warframe collection bundles, they deserve it no?
Seems like you were just *straw man*
I really dont like the reduced max ammo from 800 to 200. its just 1/4. with arkana i had max ammo of 1600. 200 now just dont feels right.
It doesn't really have an effect in-game
Yeah no effect i just used it and it doesn't run out of ammo at all.. so if you can't use it then fix your build.
Imagine being the ape copying and pasting "build issue" when de had no reason to gut the games ammo economy, get off their dick bud they won't ever acknowledge you
I know for a fact that kireek is crying somewhere rn
"But he did it for the community" 🤓
Being ignorant will not help your cause
