- Not to be confused with Vosfor.
Fosfors are consumable Gear items, which upon use launches a bright glowing flare into the sky. This not only acts as a visual marker that allies can see to note the player's position, but it also increases that player's Affinity range from 50 m to 200 m for 2 minutes, allowing Affinity to be gained by and shared with squad mates much further away from the player. In Archwing missions, this range is multiplied fourfold into 800 m.
There are two types of Fosfors available, though the only difference between them is the crafting requirements and color of the flare launched.

Acquisition[]
The reusable Fosfor blueprints can be bought from Nakak in Cetus. The actual price of buying the blueprints changes daily, though the payment will always be in Plains of Eidolon-exclusive resources.
Crafting a Fosfor in the Foundry will create 20 charges of the item for use.
Notes[]
- While the flare launched is centered on the location where the player used it, the affinity range buff affects the player themselves, allowing them to benefit from the range increase even while on the move.
- Fosfor is a personal item which only affects the player who used it. It does not provide extra Affinity range to squad mates who are far away from other squad mates without their own Fosfor buff.
- The duration of the Fosfor's effect can be seen on the upper right corner of the screen as a blue icon while active.
- Using another Fosfor while a previous Fosfor is already active will refresh the duration of the previous cast for the player.
- Abilities that use Affinity Range instead of Power Range, i.e.
Trinity's
Blessing and
Harrow's
Covenant, benefit from the range increase granted by Fosfors.
- The effects of Fosfor Blau and Fosfor Rahd stack when used at the same time, increasing Affinity Range to 400m instead of 200m.
Trivia[]
- Fosfor means Phosphor in multiple languages, which is a term used to describe luminescent substances.
- Phosphor is commonly used to make fireworks.
- Blau means Blue in German.

DE_Pablo if you're reading this we need to be able to get a blueprint for making more of these at once.
Unfortunately, as of current Fosfor do NOT seem to affect the range of abilities that scale with affinity range while Vazarin's affinity bonus does. Even when used by both players. Tested in the simulacrum.
One of the most underrated consumables in the game.
Thats probably because nobody needs this after 150~~ days of playing
Can someone answer that question very clearly: Does it work the same way for the whole team? I understand that Harrow or Trinity use it and their unique abilities get insane range and when they kill stuff - the team gets the affinity while being between standard affinity range and increased. But what about nukers that stand between standard and increased affinity range and kill stuff - do Harrow/Trinity get affinity from them?
Still looking for the answer for this
If you launch the flare, everyone gets an extended affinity range. If you have the tenno affinity link symbol in the upper left hand corner of your hud then you get the shared xp. This applies to nukers but you have to be close enough. Although, if your in a squad of more than 2 then there is no way of knowing who your closest to.
No, not everyone, the player who used it gets a buff. So he can share affinity to all allies 200m from him, but if tenno 2 is 100m away from tenno 3, tenno 3 won't receive affinity from tenno 2.
Can confirm the range of just one stacks with itself; I was on Salacia with someone who kept flying super far away; I went up to, and past, 2,000 meter affinity range. Definitely recommend keeping one of these (Blau or Rahd) on your wheel as it really helps with people who have no idea how to affinity share in archwing.
Definitely suggest editing the wording; " increases that player's Affinity range to 200 m for 2 minutes " to " increases that player's Affinity range by 200 m for 2 minutes and is capable of stacking that range with itself, though max duration remains unaffected" or something to that affect.
does the duration reset if you apply extras while the effect is active or does each stack have a duration?
Each stack has a duration and they do not stack range
If it doesn't anymore, it certainly used to at least in Archwing. When someone gets out of range, you pop it; continue moving away and pop it again then they'll be back in range. The durations are still individual from each other but the range did stack. It likely still does but I haven't tried that yet.
Huh, I thought there was no duration on these.
Its range stacks up with each use.
I was running some missions with over 1000m affinity range.
It Increases affinity range in archwingmissions from 200m to 800m.
This seems bi-directional, the buff icon has shown on every squad members.
one of my favorite gear items; even in a small tile like Hydron ppl get >50m from each other and miss out on someone's nuke xp
10/10
the info says it only affects the player themselves so doesnt that mean the "group" only benefits from kills/affinity gains sourced from yourself, if they are the ones running off out of range killing everything then this item becomes useless.
To the trivia "Fosfor means Phosphor in multiple languages, which is a term used to describe luminescent substances.", That is actually an incorrect translation, Fosfor, in multiple languages, means phosphorus, which is the element P, and not an umbrella term for luminescent substances which Phosphor is. Phosphorus is luminescent though.
True.
well, phosphorous means "light bearer" in ancient greek.
Super good for ESO if the tile is big
You can't use gear items in SO or ESO
^ LMAO ..Busted :D
Super good if your girlfriend playing with you hasn't learned bullet-jumping yet :)
It sure would be nice if this affected Mirage's Eclipse ability
does it ?
it makes some light, but clearly not enough to trigger the light version of Eclipse
A must have for survival missions, where especially newer players just run around the whole map
Who plays survival with randoms for affinity?^^
yeah to maximize the exp share to leech xp from team. its a nice thing to have in your unlimited gear slot
I usually see more high-level players running all over the map than new players.
Does this affect the range of trinitys blessing?
It literally says on the bottom paragraph
Question, can both be used in mission(s) like, Survival and defense just to name some, if so, thats is awesome, if not, eh better luck next time.............
They can be used anywhere, even in AW missions
Read the description, it says the focus you gain reach other players farther away, you don't benefit from it.
Hey "Lone Tenno", it's Affinity, not just Focus. Also, I'm pretty sure it goes both ways: to/from allies. You don't need to spam the same message to everyone in the comment section, when you are misinformed, yourself!
"...allowing affinity earned by that player to reach allies much further away."
"...the affinity range buff affects the player themselves..."
The description is wrong. Using this item causes the PLAYER who used it to RECEIVE affinity from the rest of the squad from farther away, not give it. Only the player using the item benefits.
Base Affinity range is 30m in radius. The Fosfor Blau/Rahd increases the range by 170m. This can also stack with Mending Unity in the Vazarin Focus tree adding another 25m at max to your personal affinity range.
Yeap, it's 50.
Read the description, it says the focus you gain reach other players farther away, you don't benefit from it.
Seems the Tenno above me doesn't get it lol
It's for shared xp from kills
Yeah, that Tenno spread misinformation on pretty much every comment here, saying it only helps others, and not the user.
So it increases the gained affinity range or what ? Like i am at the begining of the map and he is in the middle (Let's say within range with fosfor only) when i use fosfor i gain affinity when effect wears off affinity is not coming to me anymore ? Or it increases the ability range i don't get it.
Affinity range is the range you gain affinity from allies gaining affinity (exculding objectives). Say an ally is within your affinty range of 30m and they kill an enemy. You gain affinity from that kill as long as whoever killed it is in your range. The Fosfor Blau/Rahd simply gives a buff to you and anyone nearby that increases the affinity range to 200m for 2 minutes. Abilities that are based off affinity range are increased for the duration as well.
Read the description, it says the focus you gain reach other players farther away, you don't benefit from it.
^ Yep, you do benefit from it. Did you even try the Fosfor, before spamming the comment section?
Can it be used as Mirage's damage buff on the plains at night?
This is a great question !
