The Ostrons are the inhabitants of the Cetus settlement near the Plains of Eidolon on Earth. They are a hardy, mercantile people that dwell in the shadow of the Orokin Tower of the Unum, which they harvest for their livelihood. Kept safe from Grineer aggression by the arcane powers of the Unum herself, Cetus serves as their central trading hub in the Origin System and a refuge for all others who come to it with peaceful intentions.

Ranks[]
Lore & History[]
General[]
The Ostron people's history can be traced back to Orokin Era[1] when they were ruled under the Orokin Empire. Since the Empire's collapse, the Ostrons were left to their own governance, scavaging what was left of the Empire to survive in a post-Orokin era. On Earth, they formed many colonies, with Cetus being one of the trading hubs of the Ostrons.
Cetus is located next to the Plains of Eidolon (known as the Eidolon-Moh by the Ostrons), shielded by the Orokin tower Unum's protective barrier. A versatile and adaptable people, they are able to use anything they can get their hands. Nothing goes to waste with the Ostrons, as their scavenging way of life has taught them to be ingenious and resourceful.
Culture and Beliefs[]
Ostrons generally engage in market and trade. Despite having various markets all throughout the system and its solar rails, Cetus is the main base and home of the Ostrons. Some may make a living in the markets, while others outside Cetus may create their own toll stations on personally made bridges.
Cuisine[]
Ostron cusine generally consists of harvested and freshly grown food, such as fish, fruit, and other natural things. The also incorporate the use of spices, which can be seen in great piles in the Cetus marketplace.
- Kubuchi - Cheap liquor made from fermented sorghum. Often drunk by visitors and offworlders, thinking that it makes them a local of Cetus. However, it is an easy way to make yourself look oblivious and gullible.
- Daku liquor - The Suma Doni (a lowlands marsupial) eats the peca nut, which excretes a fine paste. It is from this paste that the Ostrons make daku liquor.
- Wine - Some merchants claim to be able to imbue a bottle with the 'etheric signature' of a person one wishes to be rid of. Drink them in the evening, expel them by morning. Highly sought after.
- Temple flesh - Harvested from the temple body of the Unum, her fascia is rendered and filleted for both consumption and sale.
- Chimurr - An Ostron tea-like beverage. Brewed by filling a gourd with bomba leaves, then adding steaming water and imbibing through a burnished juta reed. A very old Ostron tradition. To serve it to guests signifies union and friendship.
- Harpu - Freshly-brewed chimurr, served with melted vobi butter to keep it from congealing. Bulked salt and balb flour; always served hot. A filling and tasty beverage.
- Balb root - A plant root that is used to create blab flour.
- Bomba Fruit - A sweet fruit. It leaves are used as an ingredient for Chimurr.
- Juta Reed - Reed-like plants used as straws for beverages. Also an ingredient used in Chimurr.
- Ito-da - Mineral-rich termite droppings used as survival food.
- Kuaka - Slow-roasted, it is a personal favorite of Master Teasonai.
- Norg Brain - Harvested from Norgs, its seen as a delicacy.
- Vobi - Generally served as a butter and mixed with Chimurr to make Harpu, although it can also be made into cheese.
- Golden caviar - Harvested from abyssal depths such as the Geonate Shelf.
- Chumpa Grub - An Ostron delicacy, coveted for its gelatinous internal organs and aroma.
- Mulala twigs - Fine twigs that are packed into smoking pipes.
- Xanthophyl - Called ‘Kabakka’ by the Ostrons; gourds that are a staple in simple Ostron cuisine, often used to fortify soups and stews. They are unique plants that grow in the forests of Earth.
- Maprico - A hardy fruit with thick skin and sweet pulp. Grows in bushes on the Plains of Eidolon.
- Kuteo - Nutritious gourds.
- Rubad - A tangy fruit enjoyed by the Ostrons.
- Peca nuts - Nuts that are used to created daku liquor.
Technology[]

Zaws - Modular Ostron melee weapons
The Ostrons are not the most technologically advanced people, and mainly use archaic technology and weapons, such as explosives, blades and firearms. They mainly employ the use of Zaws and firearms, which are used by the Ostron militia to defend Cetus from the Grineer and their ghouls. Some normal citizens may possess firearms, such as fishermen.
Language[]
- Main article: Ostron Language

- Swazdo-lah - a common greeting
- Sho-lah - 'farewell'

- Dah-dap - 'thank-you'
- Ai yo - a common exclamation. Could be thought of as 'oh my'
- Lok heb - 'hail'
- Chut! - 'silence!' (request for)
- Kruna metta - an imploration. 'please'.
- Khanung! - a warning

"Players can also purchase tower meat as an Orbiter decoration."
So that was a damn lie.
Is there a way to get the sigils by spending standing if you chose a different offering upon ranking up?
Void relics can be bought from Old Man Suumbaat at rank 3
While purchasing Fersteel Alloy BP from Suumbaat I noticed RELIC PACK on his list of wares now that i'm at rank 3 trusted
Hok now sells Ostron armor sets at R5
This page really needs rank up rewards listed here, i don't think everything is available for free on rankup from each tier, i may be wrong though.
Isnt it funny how the ostrons literally dont notice that the MOON just suddenly appeared again out of the sky?it has been missing for years but then suddenly you pull it out of the void and no one notices at all
Considering that they haven't been updated in years, and konzu's stupid ass can't even tell the difference between trusted and surah rank, they got more important issues 2 be dealing with... Like operation cetus wisp every now and then, and the ghoul purge, just 2 name a few.
If you are struggling with farming standing and are bored of doing lame bounties, do the following:
Get the Tranq Rifle from Fortuna.
Get Loki. Max out your ability duration and equip Zenurik/Energizing dash (not really needed but helpful if you run out of energy)
Go to free roam in Cetus, cloak, and find random Kuaka and Condrocs on the map. They pulse orange while aiming. Just run around and stay cloaked; don't use archwing or Grinner fools will attack you. (Tenno Skoom!)
Put those animals to sleep and "rescue" them. Just run up to them and shoot them point blank; they don't notice you since you are invisible!
Profit from perfect captures without having to follow trails or anything stupid like that. No lures or baits or scents needed, just the tranq rifle!
**Bonus - equip Helios sentinel and get scans while hunting, turn in your tags for infinite Floofs, just gg ez max rep no problem!
Takes me less then 5 minutes to get 25k plus standing just running around the map and capturing animals. You have minimal risk since you are cloaked the whole time and you get perfect captures without issue. Not sure if you need it but consider bringing Hushed Invisibility augment to make sure no one hears your weapons.
This is also great if you want to farm standing to get any rewards you want. You'll enjoy using parkour across the map and enjoy the thrill of getting perfect captures. Normally using 5-star bounties would take at least 30 minutes to an hour. It's fast, easy, and is much more fun compared to doing bounties for the @#$%ing 1000th time.
Thanks for saving my time
Ivara, Equinox, Loki. Just find the biggest rock right before the entrance. There will spawn like 4 groups of 2-3 Kuakas. You can run around or just stay in one place, they will respawn either way.
Or fly around and potentially find a trio of Emperor Condrocs, each worth an entire Kuaka group
Just stay by the entrance of the Plains and go between the right side and left side of the gates. Seemingly something always spawns on the opposite side as you take one down. Flying around the map looking for stuff took me way longer until I learned this trick. Essentially camp the entrance.
According to dialogue in the New War trailer it reveals that their are Ostron on Mars. The message said that all Ostron on Mars are to leave it.
The Thousand Year Fish fragments already say that there are Ostrons pretty much everywhere, same with some of the Operation: Plague Star transmissions. Cetus is just their main home, they're pretty much everywhere they can be
There are Ostrons hanging out in all the relays too
I am pretty sure the crewmen in Cetus are Ostrons in a crewman suit because corpus have pale skin and ostrons don’t and the “Crewmen” have darker skin than regular crewmen.
Um, the Tulok and Peram fishing spears are now 500 standing each, with both obtainable at the rank of neutral.
The recent Build Notes said so...
Would be nice if Hok sold fully built Exodias...y'know, so it's in line with Fortuna.
And now it does!
I think the page is missing the "Cetus Scene" (a captura scene) from the offerings list...its a rank 5 offering, not which vendor sells or nor how much it costs (i got mine as the rank-up bonus, since the Glappid bait blueprint is unavailable as a choice when ranking up...)
Ostron, [1]130,000 Standing at Kin Rank from Old Man Suumbaat.
copied from "Captura" page (no pic, though)
READ HERE!!!! if you need standing and hate not being able to earn more past the daily limit do fishing. You can stock pile a bunch of fish and sell them as standing the next and the next day so on. this means that you can farm fish on a good day where you feel like grinding or if you have work on other parts of the week. just log in fulfil standing via fish you caught and log out.
Best fish to farm at lower levels without the special baits is the lung fish at that double lake near the opening to cetus (has to be night tho)
nice idea might try that
Hmm, makes sense, conservation activities also give standing pretty fast, but some animals are harder to catch than others, and if they draw aggro they either flee or get killed by enemy units. Fish flee but they don't despawn right after being scared, and I don't think they can be killed.
I'll do that! Farm a lot of fish and trade them for standing, the excess fish I'll just chop or dismantle for parts so I get a good stock! Or keep them for another day, whatever I feel like doing :P
I forgot that fish give even less standing than a poor catch of kuakas and pobbers
You also forgot that you can catch fish WAY faster than you can do condensation, and they get doubled by a resource booster.
POWDERS AND DYES, NEWLY ARRIVED AT GREAT RISK FROM THE EURASIAN ZONE! DISPLAY YOUR LOVE WITH A STREAK OF VERMILLION! I LIKE THOSE EYES WITH A DASH OF RARE CERULEAN! POWDERS AND DYES!

POWDERS AND DYES, NEWLY ARRIVED AT GREAT RISK FROM THE EURASIAN ZONE! DISPLAY YOUR LOVE WITH A STREAK OF VERMILLION! I LIKE THOSE EYES WITH A DASH OF RARE CERULEAN! POWDERS AND DYES!
dude get a...thing in the orbiter or better yet go to fortuna...no weait
it's " Highlight those eyes" not "I like those eyes", ya kno like eye shadow?
I always heard, "I like those eyes" as well.
Early lunch for Konzu.
news paper
Local Man eats lunch at 10.49 A.M
We couldn't arrest him,as there was no laws to stop him,and yet,he is a criminal.-says one tenno
IT'S FISHING TIME!!!-says a lazy person who jacks off and gets strangers to do his work
Local man eats lunch at 10.49 A.M and NOBODY IN THE VILLAGE could stop him.Reporters, scientists and Grineer alike have no clue why this man ate at 10.49 A.M.It is a huge mystery but experts on gastronomy have a theory on why...
news paper
anyone now who tries to stop konzu from early lunch get exiled
The Ostrons on the relay have new voice lines as of The Pyrus Project.
I like when games give you mundane things to do like fishing or mining. I can see the next update.
Earn standing by getting an office job. "Tenno...yeah, so I'm going to need you to come in this weekend and finish the TPS reports. Each one will give you standing, and then you cna trade them in for red staplers".
The staplers, of course, are essential to craft the Staple-gunblade.
idea;make stapler a thing to make zaws and u can get a stapler and gild it without a zaw and u can make a stapler gun and be able to staple enemies
Well, Papers Please did a great job at making paperwork fun, I don't see why DE wouldn't do it either.
It'd be funny if we saw a Rhino wearing salaryman clothing XD
Ostron wares are outdated
1. It's a wiki, you can go fix it yourself.
2. If you aren't going to do it yourself, be as specific about what is wrong as possible.
those reward list are rather advanced wiki stuff and i don't want to break anything, otherwise i would.
sorry for being unspecific, i boldly assumed it would broadly apply to all shops, but it only applies to:
Hok - new zaw parts
Old Man Suumbaat - many new things
thanks for all you contributors hard work !! ^_^
No idea how I got Ostron standing on Jupiter.
wow how do you get standing for 3 syndicates at once
You do a syndicate mission while wearing a different syndicates sigil
^thats not possible
And to OP, not only did you earn Ostron standing on jupiter, you earned a SHIT TON of standing!
seems like you're gonna get an early lunch, Konzu
